Mary cooked us a lovely breakfast in her Aga. We also had a variety of fruit, including gooseberries from the garden. Mary had a long chat-- she has to cycle now due to bad eyesight stopping her from driving. We set out for our last day of walking at around 9oc. It was an easy walk, pretty flat and only slightly overgrown in places. Passing the watercress ...

We had breakfast at 8oc--the dining room was somewhat musty and every surface was full of clutter. Apparently Joyce was a car boot sale addict and the whole house was bulging with her purchases. Too late. They stop food at 6pm, but sunset is not until after 10pm. Found s Thai restaurant and had a nice meal. Home for bed. Used the wifi here to update and backup our ...

... entirely with brambles and climbers. The field we had to cross contained two electric fences to cross-- as well as the compulsory long grass. After a clear area of grass and another overgrown gate, we plunged into the worst conditions so far ! This was a field of rape, six feet high in places, complete with brambles, nettles and some prize thistles ! There was no path although the Jubilee Trail arrow said straight on. We could not go straight, so battled our way round ...
