... from being spoiled rotten and is a whopping 5 pounds :o). Many thanks to Grandma and to Ong Piu for having taken such good care of our Godzilla, we will forever be grateful!
We've been home almost a week now and can sincerely say that it was a good decision to come home sooner than planned. It was a truly wonderful trip, extremely rewarding and ...
There is a mighty river flowing from a great inland sea. Half way down the river is an isle with a mountain in the middle. Around the mountain is a city. First people called it Ville Marie. We called it Montreal in Middle French
In the center of the city is a plaza where Iroquois defended themselves against whites. Now the place is taken by a bank. Both sides lost.
Around the plaza were the cobblestone streets with the stores closed ...
... Victoriaday, so maybe that is why. We walked across old town, Downtown, Chinatown,Cracktown and ended up in Gayvillage/town to have lunch with Roger. A very charming English looking very kind friend of Ronaldo. Talked about life. I took a cab back to hotel at 3.30 p.m to get back and check on Maria. She had been out shopping and ...
Montreal, Quebec, Canada caasie... Dieu du Ciel at about 8. It was still early so we just walked and walked and walked. Just talking about random subjects and walking around. We had some good conversations on our journey to nowhere so it was fun. Eventually we get to Dieu de Ciel. This instantly became my new favorite bar. We ordered Absinthe beer which was about 8.5%. We did receive a warning that it would be bitter from the waitress but we just HAD to try it. It was much more ...
Montreal, Quebec, Canada skylab... was something I didn't think I would have much of in Canada and the US, so was very happy about that! I had saag paneer and it was lovely! On Sunday we went on a 3 hour bus tour around Montreal seeing the sights. On the tour we visited Basilique Notre-Dame De Montreal. Inside is beautiful and very elaborate and vibrant with gold, greens and blues -this is a big contrast with the outside of the building which is nothing special! Following this we visited the Stade ...
Montreal, Quebec, Canada kellybooth16... le monstre' - it was made of wood but looked better than the others because it did not turn in loops. We spent another hour queuing. I was scared before going on, but afterwards it was not so bad, although it was a bit wobbly when you were on it (I hit my head and another boy, Andrew, cut his elbow on something while we were on the ride). Joe had to be dragged on to this ride, but came out complaining that it was too short! After ...
Montreal, Quebec, Canada canadacaro... Tams on Sunday. unlike the advice from Patrick for a great place to visit this is not a stripclub but a gathering every Sunday in the park around Mount Royale, so i'll go out there and give a look over. Up shot of the evening was I travelled back to the hostel and went to bed. Tommorow my mission is to seek out an internet cafe, how hard can it be I kept tripping over them in Toronto. Note: Internet cafes are rarer than rocking horse **** in Montreal.
Montreal, Quebec, Canada lightweight... have heard me with the deadening effect of dumping snow. I checked it out, and I was right. No one rushed to my aid my anguished soul so I just walked into a nearby art gallery and warmed up while I hatched my dinner plan. Last night after my grand tour of the old Montreal, I walked back to a pub only blocks from home, and enjoyed a quiet ale. Without someone to talk to, the conversation is a little flat, even though I do love the sound of my own voice. To pass ...
Montreal, Quebec, Canada zzmatt... my misplaced luggage or should I try and make my connection John Jacques Larocque didn't make eye contact with me or answer me but...wait for it...he shrugged. And we all know how helpful that can be.
