Our friend Fiona took a red eye flight from Vancouver to meet us, so we awoke around 8am local time to her knock. She looked exhausted, though, so we told her to nap until 11 and we would regroup then. Today we packed up, cleaned the cottage and set out for Montreal with Cathy and Bill. Although it was overcast with a little drizzle the temperature wasn't that cold. We passed over the 1000 Island bridge which connects America to Canada passing through the border control which has become a lot stricter since 9/11. Turns out there was a huge fireworks show (coincidentally, at dinner, Emme asked if we were going to see fireworks and we said no). It was an amazing show! ... the never ending barrage of icebergs, did not crumble into the water. Some poutine for lunch and a museum visit kept us entertained for the afternoon before indulging in some serious chocolate dessert/dinner at Juliette et Chocolat.
