Westin LAX and a quick glimpse of Los Angeles
The fun starts at LAX when all inbound passengers are eager to rush off the plane, either finally to be able to stretch their legs or get through to Customs and Immigration before everyone else does; I do believe many would fall into the latter. Though my mind tells me that I am not ready to leave the wonderful QF A380, I force myself physically …
Seattle to Los Angeles
We had a great stay at the Seattle Marriott, and now we're off to Los Angeles! We woke up this morning, got cleaned up, and took the morning shuttle to the airport. Our flight to Los Angeles left at 8am, so we had an early start. Our flight to LA was uneventful, and 2.5 hours short, so we were all in a good mood and ready to roll. After we got our …
An unplanned extra day!!
Saturday 15th December
Our last day in tropical paradise. We had organised a late check out so could enjoy the day by the pool before our departure at 60.00pm.
We arrived at the airport and checked in for our 22.50 pm flight to Los Angeles. It has already been delayed by an hour due to the cyclone over parts of the pacific ocean. …

We stayed here for one night, waiting to jet out of LA to Bangkok. The Daily Grill had really good food. There was a little Starbucks cart that we wished would have been open longer than a few morning hours. But coming from Anchorage, where coffee is everywhere all the time, maybe we expected too much! The outdoor pool was downright cold - but the rooms decent, if a bit older, and there was lots of places to walk with the our kids to burn off energy since the hotel itself is very large! We would stay there again.

On a day when United Airlines could do nothing right (long story), and my son and I got stuck in LA, the Westin LAX was a welcome haven. The man at the reception desk when we checked in was so kind and understanding about our crazy day. My family and I had stayed there once before and had a good stay then too. I highly recommend this hotel.

Historical Traveler Reviews The Westin Los Angeles Airport
This is a Westin?????
This must be the worst Westin I've ever stayed in. The public areas are out of date and fairly run down. The rooms are quite small, no bigger than a Holiday Inn's. To their credit he room furnishings are fine and the bed is comfortable. In no way are the rooms nicer than at neighboring 3* star properties like the Crowne Plaza or Raddisson.
BUT - the Westin rooms overlooking the taxiway are extremely noisy with shaking windows etc. I found it very hard to get a decent night's sleep.
The front desk was heavily understaffed, it took almost 30 minutes in line just to check in.
Avoid the public areas of the hotel on Saturday nights. They have salsa dance events there every Saturday until about 1:00 a.m. A very noisy and aggressive crowd hangs out at he hotel. The general atmosphere is very edgy and not worthy of the Westin brand.
Not what I was expecting
Stayed here based on excellent reviews, but my stay wasn't that great. Received a $75 rate through lastminutetravel. Was put on the 3rd floor (non smoking) but was almost choked by the amount of cigar smoke in the hallway. When I arrived, the room had no towels and no hairdryer, and bed was broken. Breakfast buffet at Charisma was very poor, definitely not worth the $13 a person. Tried to voice my concerns at checkout, and the front desk staff merely handed me a comment card and dismissed me. This was my last night on a 5 night stay in California, and was by far the worst hotel I stayed in. Definitely would not recommend unless you get a fabulous rate.
Best airport hotel EVER!
I was very impressed with the Westin LAX. I booked online and got a wonderful rate. I was not expecting much, it being by the airport and all, but I was blown away. The decor was modern but not annoyingly so, and the bed made me want to cancel the rest of my trip and book another week. If I ever need to stay near the LAX again, I will not even look at anything else. Another plus is that they allow pets! (With a moderate charge.) Can't say enough about it. Book today.
Westin LAX Great For Plane Watching
I am writing from my room on the 11th floor, watching 747's coming in to land at LAX. If you like watching big planes this is a great hotel. We were put on the 11th floor, "an upgrade", because of my gold status. I think there is not any difference in the rooms but it is nice to be up here for the view. The airport operations are barely audible. There is no noise from the landing planes and the ones taking off can be heard but it is sufficiently muffled. Then again I have a high tolerance for airplanes.Starbucks coffee (which I don't like), big TV, high speed internet access for my laptop, double shower head (Heavenly), Heavenly beds... overall I quite like it. What really seals it for me is watching the planes, though. It is really not convenient if you are coming to enjoy Los Angeles, however. Traffic to and from LA is busy, even on the weekend. We came for a meeting but caught The Producers yesterday at The Pantages - starring Jason Alexander and Martin Short. Loved it!
Great start to our honymoon
Wanting to be close to LAX for an early international flight in the morning, we stayed at the Westin LAX. For what we paid, $99 through Travelocity for a Saturday night stay, we were very happy. Incredible pillow beds, great decor (beautiful red valor draperies), and nice sized bathrooms. Best sleep in a long while. Be sure to use the aromatherapy product supplied in the bathroom, they're just as nice as home. This was a nice start to our honeymoon!
Heavenly Accommodation
Westin Los Angeles Airport28 April 2003Close to the airport, the Westin provided a high standard of accommodation and was an excellent start to our three weeks exploring the West Coast of the USA. UK airport hotels are seldom of such high quality! The staff on the reception desk were welcoming and helpful. One minor complaint would be the queues while checking in and checking out. Our guest room was a good size and furnished to a high standard. The bathroom was spacious and clean supplied with Molton Brown products. The Heavenly branded bed, bath and shower all more than lived up to their name. While during our one night stay we did not make use of all of the many hotel facilities, the public areas were impressive, the lobby bar was cosy with good service and a good choice of snacks. We had an excellent breakfast in the Charisma restaurant the corned beef hash was superb waiting staff were friendly and helpful in guiding us through an array of different breakfast options.During our trip to the US we stayed at twelve different hotels (including a 3 night stay at the Westin St Francis in San Francisco), we consider the Westin hotels to be among the very best.
Fabulous hotel, would recommend!
The room was superb!! Valet and concierge were always helpful and prompt. The meals we ate at the Charisma restaurant were always a good standard - and breakfast was excellent, if a little pricey.
Comfortable, convenient, not quiet
Stayed here 3 nights. Great beds, easy location for seeing LA and Disneyland. Near enough to the airport for air traffic noise, but muffled enough for easy sleeping. Friendly staff. Would stay again.
Westin a disappointment
The room was nice, but the service was bad. No one offered to help me to my room with my bags. I ordered room service and they sent the wrong dinner and the next morning the breakfast was almost 30 minutes late with no apology. I wasn't impressed.
Wesin is more hotel for the money
After a recent unpleasent stay at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas, and after anunimpressive night at the Raddison in La, I recently spent a night at the Westin near the airport by chance. The Westin was far superior to both of the above for the same price. The rooms were really elegant, comfortable, and clean. the complimentary breakfast in the morning was quite good, a practically gourmet buffet, with
eggs benedict and such. the service was great. i recommend this place over any other near hundred dollar room in the LAX area
