Very Disappointing- where is housekeeping???
This was a very disappointing resort. We actually paid to stay at the resort (apparently there were discounted bargains if you listened to a timeshare presentation). Check-in was very slow as they sorted the timeshare participants from the renters. HOUSEKEEPING WAS TERRIBLE. We stayed at the resort for 7 days. Our room was never vacuumed, shower cleaned, etc. One day they removed the dirty towels but didn't replace them. On the 3rd and 4th day they didn't even come. On the 4th day I helped myself to the house keeper's cart (she was visiting with her "boyfriend" on the stairway). The housekeeping supervisor came to our room and superficially appologized. However, it was obvious she wasn't interested in listening to details of our complaint.
We stayed at the motel rooms. Honestly, this was nothing special. Take your traditional 2 level motel and add wood veneer to the outside......that's all there was to it. The activities center was laughable. It was nothing more than one of the motel rooms with a ping/pong table and some board games.
In all fairness; the main pool was very attractive and the cabins looked very quaint if you were willing to spend the money. Otherwise, save money ($96 per night) and stay away from this veneered motel.
Ups & downs
We spent the weekend before the 4th of July at Branson Woods on a timeshare promotion. Service was poor. It took standing in line for 30 minutes to check in. Was told there were no smoking rooms when I had ordered one a month in advance. Cost 75 cents to make local calls. No Internet in the rooms. Geese swimming in pool with kids. Cleaning staff did just what they had to do. Floor not vaccummed, Shower not cleaned. floor not swept, sheets not changed for 3 days. First salesman was really nice and kept his pitch to the promised 90 minutes, then brought in the high-pressure man. He was so rude I wouldnt have bought anything he was selling. View is great and the cottages looked cute. Long walk to the hot-tub from our room.
I have had better
We stayed at Westgate Branson woods for a week June 17-24.
We did the whole timeshare tour for the first time and that experience for us was very good and we gained some important knowledge. If you stay long call ahead and ask to be put near laundry facility because there is only one in each unit. I have been to better hotels and more roomy. The place is very small. Also they don't clean the room all that great. They sweep the room no vacuum. I left $2 each day with a note on what I needed and I did get that. Also, the room had bugs which I was not happy about. If you are staying 3 days or less it is ok more than that find another hotel or cabin.
Internet pictures do NOT do this place justice...
We stayed for one night at the Westgate Branson Woods. I had cautiously booked through an online booking company -- I say cautiously because I wasn't sure what we would find when we arrived. Let me say it again...the pictures do not do this place justice. I had to ask the guard at the entrance if we were at the right place!
The grounds are immaculate and beautiful -- even though you are conveniently located at the junction of the Blue and Red Route in Branson it feels like you are out in the country.
We stayed in a "hotel suite" with kitchen, one bedroom (with sofa bed), large dining area and living room. It was LARGE and MORE than met our needs -- it was much more like a condo than hotel. We were sad we were only staying one night. Ours was a corner unit that faced the woods and cabins -- it was wonderful to sit outside and just listen to the trees rustling in the breeze.
The pool and playground were very nice as well.
We would absolutely stay here again. I don't know anything about the timeshare portion of it. We were never approached or harassed in ANY way.
(They are currently building an indoor waterpark so that will be an added bonus when complete...to add to the fitness area, horseshoes, shuffleboard, pools, playground, childrens activity center, etc).
Won't take no for anwser
We went to Branson Missouri Westgate Resort. It was
nice outside the mountain view was beautiful. I love the view. After the sale pitch and the tour we try to
let them know we couldn't buy into it 31/2 hrs. later
we left the place .I had a headache from listen to them trying to talk us into buying and how we could do
it. I love the lay-out of the resort but the people
need to cut short the selling stuff.
Wonderful Accomodations, Serene Surroundings
We loved Branson Woods! My friend and I stayed there during our last visit to Branson. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom cabin. It was GORGEOUS! The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. We ate breakfast in the mornings either in the little dining area or out on the screened in porch. The views were breathtaking as the leaves were still changing. The master bathroom had a 2 person jacuzzi. Both bedrooms had king size beds that were VERY comfortable. The surroundings seemed as if you were in the middle of the woods, however, within a few minutes, we were in the heart of Branson. The grounds were wonderfully maintained and the staff members were very friendly. We'll be back!
Our stay at the Branson Woods affected our thoughts about buying into the timeshare program. The first day we checked in to a bed made with soiled linen. There were several very visual blood spots on our pillowcase (old).
Our call to housekeeping was not very well received although someone did come over and change the linen on that particular. The second day one of our rooms were not claned at all and one room had the spread pulled up over a very rumpled bed. We were told we could not complain except on the internet, which was not possible on their website
Absolutely wonderful in every single way!
Wow. Impeccable. Great location, right in town but country setting. The grounds are amazing. The most well maintained flower beds I have ever seen. There are nature trails - lovely walk. The pools are sooo nice! The rooms are spacious and very, very comfortable. Cleanest I've ever seen. I could go on and on. The only complaint is that the hot tub was not well maintained - a small blemish on an otherwise lovely place. Suffice it to say, the Westgate Branson Woods is nothing short of an amazing place to stay when you visit Branson. I can't wait to go back next year!!!!!!!!
Peaceful in the woods
This resort was formerly the Grandvista's Cedar Ridge but changed ownership a year ago. We could see staff everywhere working on buildings, landscaping, cleaning. Our unit was a studio with king bed, a partial kitchen unit with microwave, small refrigerator, small sink. The room is decorated with knotty pine ceiling and on 1/2 of wall so it looks like a cabin. It was very clean and our towels and coffee were replenished every day. There is a morning breakfast buffet for $4 for adults that included scrambled eggs, meats, cereal, biscuits, fruit, coffee. We enjoyed being in the woods looking over Branson, yet we were only 5-10 minutes driving to most shows. We learned all the alternate routes and didn't have to drive much in the traffic on busy 76.We definitely will stay here again when we return to Branson.
Woods at Westgate--great place to stay
Westgate at the woods is an excellentplace to stay; especially the new cabins. we stayed in cabin #7 and it was super. It was decorated real cute. Everything you needed was there. Exceptionally clean Screened in back porch with two porch swings anda small table and four chairs there. we ate some of our meals there. Also a full kitchen with large oak table and chairs there. Bathrooms had large showers and full jacuzzi tubs. I would highly recommend this place as well as this cabin.
Dipsy Dava This is located close enough to come and go as you wish.
B.T. bones steakhouse is close as well as other neat places to eat and shop on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.

10/6 Day 107 Today we continued in Branson. We started out with another treatment from the mini massage salesperson, it seemed to help a little for me and makes Peg's feet and legs feel better. We will probably go back and get it to see long term what it can do. From there we took off on a route out in the country. There is a loop that takes you out of town at one end and brings you back at the other end. Branson has their primary roads marked as yellow, red, green, or blue as well as ...

We then went into the main arena where the show was performed along with dinner. They divide the auditorium into a north and south sides and encourage ...
I spent most of this morning sitting in the sunshine reading about northwest Arkansas as I ran out of time to do that research before I left Madison. So now I have a good idea of where I want to go and see in the next week before heading to Mountain View. My first stop in Branson was McDonalds for a strawberry lemonade and a half hour of Internet. Then ...

I hadn't planned to visit Branson, but last week a park ranger encouraged me to change my mind. She told me it was a beautiful part of the state - and she was right.
