Am I really pampered?

... Greg found us a hotel in West Edmonton and got us a room. Nobody has a better ex than I do!

First thing we did, of course was showered! Then we decided that since half the day was gone, we'd take advantage of this time to go see Harry Potter 6 at "The Mall" The movie was pretty good but the film broke part of the way through. Only delayed the movie by about 15 ...

Hostel Characters

So today I wasn't very quick to get up.  I mean I was up at 8:00 am because everyone in my room leaves by at least 9 am the latest so they are my alarm.  I really enjoy the hostel.  There is a large commons area and a huge kitchen and I have been able to meet a couple of characters here.  For anyone who knows me they know I like to talk to new people and you can't beat the people you meet in hostels.  For example there is a 40 something guy here named Eddie.  He is staying at ...

Letting Go of Loss

... on my forehead seem to have deepened overnight. On Wednesday, Adrien, his old roommate, and I were first at his funeral. We were among the last to leave. I wanted to spend as much time with Yogi as I could. It wasn't the same though. When I looked at his lifeless body and touched his cool hand, any shred of denial I was harboring dissipated. My buddy was gone. Long gone. It was of some solace to see all those (and the room was so full people were standing ...

Travelling within familiarity...

... for everyone to share, for everyone to watch. But everyone is so accostomed to that that you are anonomys." In retrospect, I should have, perhaps, taken this statement more seriously. Taken it as more of a warning, advising me to use caution and to be more alert than I usualy am. But instead this statement filled my being with nothing less than excitement and anticipation. Even more anxious for something new... I spent the first part of my trip in Rishikesh ...

Random observations

Well As life in Edmonton winds down i figured i would write a E-mail to my future self just as a reminder of what life working as a plumber in Edmonton was like. Life isn't bad here, Its just really boring and really empty, Theres nothing going on, My heart hurts i have no passion, I'm just surviving, I'm surrounded by grown men who have just been broken by the world their wives their kids their job, society, has taken everything from them, They drag themselves out of bed at 5 ...

The past 6 months in edmonton (with photos)

... out look on life, And perspective, And with One goal that i would obsess over for the coming months LEAVING, With a game plan, I've been able to Coap with all the stress that used to push me to the edge, knowing that i was always just one step away From Happiness, And unwilling to give people the satisfaction of being as unhappy as they were. Continuing on before i get off topic, I've more or less put my social life on stand by. Going out Far less frequently Then ...

West Ed

Edmonton, ah yes, Calgary's evil brother to the north. Let me just say this, if you drive to Edmonton for the first time forget everything you know about logical roadways. It doesn't make sense up there and if you try to use logic you'll end up even more lost. That being said, the mall kicks ass. Well actually, the World Waterpark kicks ass. The worlds largest indoor water park in the worlds largest mall.

Keeping it Real

Well I am very good at burying my head in the sand sometimes. But this one is hitting me clear up side the head. I did do Bikram today but I had a terrible time with it. I had to take alot of breaks and not push myself. I realized that the sleeping aids I took the night before had really not quite worn off. I Then decided that I would have a great day not matter what. But I guess the weather didn't want to agree with me. We had crazy snow and some viscious fog with ...

Notion of Commotion with the Motion of the Ocean

... hot scorching days made it impossible to sleep off the party from the night before. Inevitably, there were a few long stretches of wakefulness peppered with heavy dancing resulting in quite the state of exhaustion. Overall, it was great to spend some time with old and new friends enjoying some good beats and positive energy. I found a couple of cute brothers, Morgan and Conrad ...
