... then. If any one of you knows Cal, you could only imagine the things he had to say about it to which I'm sure he will share (I've seen all this nonsense before). Verona will be the only city we will visit that is more local than touristy. The town is sweet, romantic and full of delights you wouldn't find on the map. There are underground ruins along a street that you just 'happen to walk by' and a 'mini' colosseum that staged operas both nights ...
... and walked into the main part of the town. We found a restaurant along the water and had simple pizza and pasta for lunch. Then we walked to our favourite gelati shop at the other end of town and had our fix of icecream. The boys were tired and we had achieved our goal of letting them experience the opera in the Verona Arena. It was a special night and the drive home was uneventful and relatively straightforward.
