... and met a great guy called Matt. Well he was called Matt but he looked like a Will so he became Will for the rest of our trip. The 8 of us (Luke, Rupert, Charlie, Will, Jess, Chloe, Hennie and I) became a really close knit group for the rest of the trip. All of them have become great friend to me and I'll miss all them. Love you guys. The bus from Picton to Kaiteriteri was through some lovely wine country. Marlborough wine was a big seller in Waitrose and the extent of ...

It also just felt good to ...

The last two days of our trip were spent sight seeing in Christchurch. Decided to take a rest from the van and catch bus into town. Very sad to see the state of the CBD. The city was fed strayed by the earthquake and there is construction happening everywhere. Caught the tourist hop on hop off tram to gain Some of the history of the town. Very quick trip, only 20 minutes and not that much to see. Visited the cardboard cathedral built after the main Christchurch cathedral ...

... police as the car was located some 50 metres downstream and winched out by crane. Apart from that sadness though, the drive was spectacular as we drove through bush covered gorges with waterfalls tumbling down the rock faces and filling the ditches and streams.

As we arrived at Franz Josef, the rain stopped; we met two very nice Canadians who have
bought a camper and are spending 5 months over here – we agreed to meet up later and walk into town to ...
