... else. After touching down in Christchurch, Lance came and met me at the airport for a coffee and final catch-up. I am so grateful for Lance and Donna's amazing hospitality and it was great that Lance took time out from his busy schedule to make a trip to the airport especially to say farewell from New Zealand. We only had an hour or so to kill before we needed to grab a bus for the airport and our hire car. In the bus station, with the aid of a small ...

... went off to visit Sumner, which is on the coast. A fabulous seaside town that has a wonderful long beach, waves that attract surfers and a beach restaurant, where we had lunch, sharing a pulled pork panini, wedges and a healthy salad. I can be good some times! We wandered across the beach which was quite wide with flat sand good for sand castles! There are also some rocky sections to ...

... We did manage to track down the correct sizes, but it certainly took a while. The late afternoon was spent strolling through the beautiful botanical gardens. For dinner we went on the tram restaurant car around the city, this was a great experience and a lovely way to spend my last night with my parents. It was a beautiful 3 course meal and a great chance to learn some more about the city. It had not long started up again after the ...
