      ... The beautiful ceiling is the longest continuous medieval vaulted stone ceiling in the world, 96 metres long. Lovely stained glass and lots of light, unlike many Gothic cathedrals.

      Looked at the castle walls, all that remains of the original Rougemont castle built in 1068, (the buildings inside being newer, late 1800s-1905) and then its gardens and moat.

      We got an email today with a lot of information about the first couple weeks in Nepal.

      Arrival date: 25th November, we'll be met at the airport by both of our team leaders. They'll have a nice big sign and it sounds very fancy, we'll have the rest of this day to settle in. This is also the time when we will be given our first 'allowance' ...

      ... pub where it was lit, warm, and provided good food. We had a lovely meal, together with wine, desserts and coffees it came to 90 for the 4 of us which we thought was reasonable. We stayed glued to our seats until about 10.15pm, when S & P left to go home about 5 miles away. Brian & I just crossed the car park in the rain, made up the bed by lamplight and got undressed in the dark…how romantic…sat and read our kindles ...

      ... the same back around the other ending up at the old marina and the Pavilion which is a theatre for panto and the like. There we had a coffee upstairs overlooking the beach, full of children as it was half-term and quite pleasant. Then we strolled back to the station having a look at all the yachts etc. on the way.
