Today I visited the Huaisheng Mosque, another of the recommended sites
from my arrival pack.

It sure was! She massaged my head and neck for a good 10 mins - it was really great, and I could quite happily have let her carry on longer.
The lad who cut my hair listened patiently while I attempted to say what I wanted done, then read the characters in my little book to understand what I wanted - hopefully I will get better at that over time, and today I at least managed to say I wanted a haircut...baby steps!

Luckily for me, and everyone else in the south of China, the passport was found (a-hem, inside my toiletries bag) and disaster averted.

It is now home to the Guangdong Folk Art Museum as well as retaining the temple, and is a truly impressive place. It is easy to get a bit jaded when you visit lots of temples and pagodas, but this one is in a category of its own.
