Final preparations

A travel blog entry by mattyjordan on Oct 03, 2014

Ok so today was the last chance to start trying to sort out stuff out for the wedding. We started the day by picking up our suits which was a bit more of an endeavor than we had all expected. We had already tried on our suits and been fitted, but we had to do it again for fun I guess. And as a reminder of how good we are going to look tomorrow.

The hostel receptionist came into my room at about 8am while I was sleeping and mumbled some **** in Portuguese. All I got was chamando, which means calling so I guessed I had a phone call. I went down stairs and the big Papa dog himself was waiting for me!

I had a chore to do today! Yay. Not that it was difficult at all, but it was my job to take Alex's family and friends to the market. They all had different ideas of stuff that they wanted to buy so I was just playing tour guide for the morning. Not that I really knew how to tour guide around the market, the place is an absolute labyrinth.

Alex messaged me this morning telling me to meet him at Vera's place but when I arrived he wasn't even there. Apparently he had run off to do some chores or something so I sat on the couch with Rod watching house. I ate some lunch with Jess's family who were extremely hospitable despite neither Alex or Jess being home. 6 hours later when Alex finally arrived we walked back to Savassi again and picked up some more of Jess's dresses.

... gym with her Husband. she was super cool and we managed to get her onto the Rod cheer squad after she saw him fighting in the first round.

He stepped up for fight 2 and contained the second guy in a reverse headlock about 2 minutes in which earned him some points. He hung on until the 5 minute round was over and won this fight on points.

It was down to the final. The guy that he was up against had also pretty convincingly won his fights up until this point, but ...
