... the rail beside the staircase was problematic in that it was, literally freezing. Had worn coats and boots but never thought about gloves. Big mistake. At least we weren't the only ones.

Today we went to Eisriesenwelt, or the Ice Caves in Werfen right outside of the main city of Salzburg. It was about an hour bus trip but it was worth the fantastic mountain and canyon views we got to see. ... circular hiking trail, we explored interesting sites: echo point, stone circle, etc.

This time, we couldn't use the little train (Hoehenbahn - Schmalspurbahn) directly to the restaurant because the heavy rain undermined two weeks ago the tracks. A temporary path was built and plastic planes covered this area (see pictures).
