... us up. We took the Gornergrat train up to almost 3000m (almost 9000ft). From there we walked approx 10 minutes to the Iglu village. It is very fancy with a nice ice-bar, restaurant in the iglu. All the rooms have different ice-carvings. My Swisscard friends had booked us a romantic-room. We had a giant whale above our bed. The next surprise was the apéro with Champagne, cheese, meet and bread. The cheese fondue was served as dinner at ...

board this train as it was full to the limit. However, unlike many railways of
this planet this wonderful Swiss railway company put on not only 1 but three
extra trains behind this one to cater for the large demand of passengers.
The railway knew we had a booking of 40 people and so even reserved and
labelled up a separate coach for us to travel in.
All on board and we are off up the edge of this mountain on train no 4. As
      the speed is ...

... oblivious to the fact I wasn’t catching a thing she was saying, though I had gathered one obvious fact. The campsite was closed for the 'winter’ season. I tried to ask her where the nearest campsite was but that only brought another fierce tirade of German. Thanking her for her kind words I set off south and downhill, continuing on my planned route for the next day and hoping to find a campsite ...
