    ... of you that don't know the monument was built between 1820-1821 to pay respect to the 800 or so swiss men who lost their lives defending and protecting King Louis XVI and his family during the French revolution. I don't have enough words to describe the pain and sorrow depicted on the lions face, for a stone carving it is pretty incredible.
