we finally arrive, after twisting jules arm relentlessly, but too late for the bus, cannot wait for two more hours, so we jump in a taxi only to find we have booked ourselves into the gulag, no i mean it. we are staying in prisoner cell block F. we think of crying, but dont want to show fear to the locals.

we do manage to find a ...
Karlovy Vary, Karlovarský Kraj, Czech Republic l_i_s_a_c... br>We leave and go to see the colonnades, these are fancy walkways with pillars that have little fountains where the thermal water comes out. People are walking along with fancy china cups. The handles are really spouts to drink the water from. They go to the water taps, fill their cups and stroll along drinking the water. The water is warm and at some stops hot water.

We bought a very tiny cup and tried the water. I ...
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic dancejill... sausages for lunch. Was half cut - half a litre of beer with jetlagg...interesting combination.

Flew from Prague on the dodgiest little plane, Jarrad was pulling sticky tape off the cabin and announcing outloud that we might not make it alive. Hmmmmm they also made the mistake of asking him to complete the customer survey...

Went out on the bikes yesterday to explore town. Amazing - bus loads of tourists arrive here daily. Photos don't do it justice.
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic sharmandjarradWe took a day trip to this beautiful crystal and spa town. It is noted for its water. People come from all over. It is suppose to help ailments of all kinds. There are several places in town that sell ceramic vases to use to drink from the fountains throughout the city. We strolled around for several ...
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic tdennissteel... The standimg room tickets were $4, a hot dog was $1 ad a 1/2 litre of beer was $1.56-CRAZY! The calibre of hockey is high and the atmosphere was awesome-lots of singing and chanting. 80% of the attendees were sporting team colors and the most popular accessory was a scarf with the team colors which was waved wildy after a goal-unfortunately, we scored one lass goal than the other team and lost 2-3 in overtime, but what fun despite standing in concrete ...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic polloslibre... take us to visit the Hrabanek clan (he and his family are the only remaining part of the family in the Czech Republic). It's a beautiful drive from Prague to K.V. but at 120kms from Prague it still takes 2.5 hours. In K.V. we are staying with my great-aunt on my moms side the infamous teta Kvyeta. She is my grandmothers sister but closer in age to my parents so she essentially grew up with them, (she is the aunt you have that is ...
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic polloslibre... we are now. We've been staying with a friend of mine from work in Doha. She lives in a little town close to the border with Germany so we had a day of castles and canoeing yesterday and now it's almost time to head to Prague again before we travel to Croatia for a bit of island hopping and fun. Hope you like the pics. It's awesome being on the road again. Enjoy
Cheb, Bohemia, Czech Republic ryanislost... to walk a very long distance to find ourselves at the train station, board on the train which was basic to say the least..... and arrive in Prague OVER 3 HOURS LATER grrrrrr You may want to issue return tickets when visiting Karlovy Vary... Before leaving, do try those big round wafers. You may also buy special cups and try the thermal water, but it may get messy as they advise it may be tough on your stomach... Even so, the place is crawling with WC about every hundred meters...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic perlKarlovy Vary, another little side trip.... Would you believe that it only cost us $25 USD round trip to go to this cute little town?! About 2 hours by bus, Karlovy Vary, is a well known spa town in the western part of Czech Republic. One thing that can be said about the transit system in town is that its confusing! They have a pretty extensive bus system for such a small town, but hopping on the wrong ...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic jasonncaryn... or two nights there.

It is not a big trip actually, if I am not mistaken it is about 2 hours from Prague, however the whole trips is interesting because you drive throuh huge thick forests and hills with beautiful colorful hills on either side of the road.

A place that mustn't be missed!
We left with the best impressions.
