It lasted for around twenty minutes, with most of the fireworks exploding directly over the East River. However the highlight were the fireworks over the Brooklyn Bridge, illuminating the landmark in brilliant shades of red, white and blue.

... the student halls, hanging out with relatively new New Yorkers, getting to hear what life in the big city was like and one of my highlights was the next morning when we got taken up to the roof of the building and had a great view of the city around us.
