... embargo of the island by a vote of 188 to 2 (the U.S. and Israel). That means that 188 votes (including Canada, The United Kingdom, Australia, etc.) approved a resolution presented by Havana that condemns the U.S. for causing "over $1,126 trillion in damages" as a result of over 50 years of trade sanctions. The embargo - or blockade ("el bloqueo") as it's known in Cuba --is the most visible symbol of decades of contentious relations between my country and the nation ...

... The mood for the cruise was set MMmmm! The very excited group piled into the stretch hummer lwhere the champers continued to flow, the chatter got louder and funnier and the two hour trip to Miami just flew by. Luckily, Kristy and Chance had left nothing for us to organise and so it wasn't an issue that boarding was a bit of a blur. We all managed to regroup at the pool bar ready to continue to party then a call goes out for Joe's mate Hopple, who was coming from Chicago to ...

... I was out already, did a bit of a bar crawl, had some food and watched the ceremony in a bar called Sidelines. Had a great time with the very excited Americans. I even got a bit watery eyed at one point. I though it was really touching that most of the Americans in the bar stood for the British national anthem. The general consensus was that the ceremony was a huge success. I was VERY proud to be a Londoner. Danny Boyle did London proud.
