A quiet day today; sleep in and then out on the seas so set both my smart devices, woke with the alarm at 0800 hrs, had a chat to Kate then decided shower time. My watch said 0930. We needed to be on the coach at ten. I phoned reception and they confirmed yes it was indeed 9:30. So it was a very swift shower dress pack and out the door. I even had 5 minutes for a quick breakfast from the most elaborate buffet yet. Onwards to ...

Got up at 6:00 and headed for a quick breakfast of coffee and half a bagel with cheese. That should hold me over till breakfast on the plane which departs at 8:55 am. We arrived in Istanbul at 9:45 with 20 minutes to spare. Headed for the International departures and CIP Lounge (Business class) which ...

Following a wonderful supper at Talya Balik for a sun set meal with Turkish wine. Francois was feeling a little groggy so we decided to skip playing tennis and decided to relax in the lobby while we digested our late breakfast. We also did not want to drive to the beach which was a nice offer from Pierre, who was also feeling ill with a bad cold. In turkey we do not say SICK as it is a very bad word in Turkish. At around 11:00 we decided to head for the pool and found a nice ...

Slept in while Francois went to work. Went for breakfast around 8:15 and did some reading. I came back to the room, put on my bathing suit, got my post cards and other things and headed for the pool side. Francois came to meet me around 2:00 PM since the job site has been closed for the time being. Spent a few more hours relaxing by the pool together then went to buy some ...

        A Turkish delight

A travel blog entry by tayclark on Jul 03, 2014

... and sat and watched, covered in dirt and I haven't even done anything. Safe to say other than tomorrow because I want to go to the pirate cove (a cove at the bottom of the dig site that everyone goes to after they finish work) I won't be back! Think I'll opt for the air con and comfy bed for next week. Had two authentic Turkish meals cooked by Turkish ladies outside of restaurants and I have to say their diets are random, ...
