    A Full Week

... I slept in until 11:45..... haha... oops.... Stefania woke me up, and we walked to the grandparents house. We ate lunch there, and it was awesome handmade pizza. Figaro's or Home Place has nothing on an italian pizza. I met two of her cousins also, they seemed nice. I hung out at the house after that, and at 6 my host dad drove me to my "tutor" to have dinner. We drove on his motorcycle... which was terrifying... but the dinner was delicious ...

... Tim loved the diving boards. We've had many delicious meals thanks to Holly. The other night we went for pizza and Tim ordered what he thought was salami, but turned out to be a salmon pizza ;0) A few more things are the caves that we toured around Porlezza, and then zip line experience yesterday! Quite a rush! Today we are off to a mini vacation to Cinque Terre, Lucca, and Florence. Oh yes- we also took a ferry from Mennagio to Bellagio! ...

    Road trip!

It's time to pack up and leave Venice to start the real road trip. We bought our tickets for the Ali Laguna (airport water bus) yesterday so are all set to pick our car up from the airport. We get on board no issues and watch as they put Paul's bag on top of a few others and it seems to hang precariously as we cruise along. In the meantime one of the crew has become fond of our other bag and spends time sitting on it, hopefully ...

... says; 'of course I knew! Duh! Who wouldn't? Peasants maybe, but that's not me, I am much cultured.'. Leo was a bit of a duffer, because he didn't use the tried and true al fresco technique for this masterpiece (painting of wet plaster) and so his work is quite faded, but it was also pretty impressive all the same. Definitely glad we booked this tour. The tour guide also gave us really interesting facts (the ones I have already ...

    Milan to Vicenza

... hard to believe we get to stay here.

Had a quick wander about & took a few photos before heading to the supermarket to stock up for the week. I have so missed the Italian food! All the prosciutto, cheese, balsamic, wine etc even the tomatoes taste so much richer than home & cheap too. So feeling full & relaxed now - off to bed soon & hopefully some adventures in the sun tomorrow.
