      Come to Como

... the lunch hour began. The builders came in in hordes. Seated, supplied with bread and wine followed by pasta and then time to get back to work. We moved on and later found a great pizza place. Pizzas are good here (unlike Rome). We then followed Fabio's advice and caught the ferry into Como. We spent the afternoon walking about the main part of the city - lovely old buildings, huge Duomo (surprise!!), partially unfinished waterfront, shops ...

      Sparkling Lights in Lugano

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

... right next to Duomo, I'd recommend the ground floor for buying various designer products. We ended up in Excelsior as well which is also a department store only for street style lovers I guess. It was a bit too much kenzo for us so we left using the glass lift.   I'd definitely love to come back to Milan to spend some more time exploring the city because I know there is a lot left to do there. PS: Spontini take away pizza was ...

Post card views We wake to cleared rain, an overcast day but incredibly surprising are the snow capped peaks surrounding Lake Como. The scene has been stolen from a post card or the top of a box of beautiful chocolates. The only thing missing from the scene are the two swans we saw gliding across the water yesterday. We walk along the lake to a 12 century church of Sancta Maria del Tiglio with what looks like a 16th century church built inside the walls of a 15th ...

Learning to ride a bike in Robecco

... seated. When we were finally all together, we head off onto the road. I wobbled, but this time I was able to guide the bike. Not yet in control of the bike but more like we have an understanding, I peered at the grass ditch next to the road and envision how I will land. I chose to linger behind the group as to be sure that I could conceal my anxiety, but also not to hinder anyone else’s journey should I be rendered incapable and should crash. My senses were heightened ...
