After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!
Menton, Provence, France darrenhough74... and not campervan parking friendly. We found a picture perfect stop just after Monte Carlo at the top of a hill overlooking the Med. We had the place to ourselves so we russelled up some brekkie in the sun which was lovely, so much so we were in t-shirts!!!
Monte-Carlo, Monaco darrenhough74... seen and spoken to, to date.
Set off mid morning to drive through Gorges du Verdon, again another stunning drive. This time though the weather was kind to us and we were able to get out for a hike after lunch. It seemed like a popular drive as we encountered several other tourists, one couple were eating lunch at the same spot we were. They packed up their picnic, took a swig out of ...
Grasse, Provence, France darrenhough74Cannes is not as glamrous as we thought it would be, it still has all the fancy smancy stores along the beach, but there were definitely no red carpets rolled out when we were there. We did a day trip to St-Tropez, its was the end of a hge sailing competitiona and tons of ...

Monte-Carlo, Monaco ricknelsie... The master is considered one of the worlds best glass artist, (and has the prices to prove it). We bought a nice blue bottle with a stopper and the Biot stamp. This is the one really nice item we’ve bought so far.

Sailing off the coast of Antibes-The day just kept getting better. We hooked up with Nautique Club and went sailing for an hour or so. It was fabulous to be enjoying the water, the weather, and the scenery in this way. Who would have thought that those ...
Antibes, Provence, France sasaharty... s stories. He was very kind and it was a nice night. Ross and our friends also got into the premier with extra tickets they were given but I definitely had the best seats in the orchestra. I wasn't very impressed with the movie but it was interesting seeing the last film Heath Ledger did and how they finished it without him. It was a very fun experience!

The next day Ross, friends and I went to the island off of Cannes called St. Marguerite Island ...
Antibes, Provence, France k1thomas... close. When he asked us if we wanted our pizza for here or to go we just laughed because we had no idea how to say here in Italian. Lina told me as we were eating our delicious, Italian pizza that she now understands how I feel in France, not knowing every single word that you need to say (I am learning every day though). After lunch we headed towards the market and it began to drizzle rain. The market was definitely huge. It snaked through almost all of the streets near ...
Antibes, Provence, France k1thomas... looking down on the extensive beaches (all pebbles) with patches of sand that had been imported to ease the tootsies of those who did not like pebbles. Nice is a very large city with all that implies and was busy busy. However it also has an incredible heritage back to caveman days, so the location was good. Sitting high on the hill we also looked down on the airport, second busiest in France. It was certainly active the day we were there. Wednesday Leo and ...
Antibes, France bucksbeach... and must be succeeding as Di has also been asked for directions by at least two French tourists. Nice Airport gave us all a pleasant surprise, there was Tana Umaga, one of Di's favourite All Blacks, standing there waiting for his family who were on the same flight as Chris. Had a great chat to him, well settled into Toulon, where rugby is a bit different from home, but it is a great life experience for the whole family. More once we have done some more exploring.
