I've also learned that if you eat a big bowl of instant noodles, you need to sleep for about an hour afterwards, that you get safety headwear with purchase of a hair straightener, and that not everything in a hundred yen shop is a hundred yen.
... s horrible. Think Maccona, Nescafe, Arriva. That's what I'm dealing with here people. Even coffee houses serve up the same filter-brewed mess. Nightmare on Cafe Street. You can ride the most efficient public transport system, buy the world's most advanced technology, **** in a loo that sings to you, but not buy a good cup of coffee. Anyway, never again.
After breakfast, I did a bit of shopping, had a wander ...
... I gave up & had my lunch by a fountain back in front of the Noh theatre.
Whilst eating and resting my very, very weary legs, I consolled myself with the good pictures of the castle I took from the pedestrian overpass. I've seen several castles now in Japan, so I doubt that this one would have been any different had I bothered to get closer.
Dinner last night was Kakiten soba - which is fried oysters on ...

... sleep deprived. But it was so much fun! The costumes were not the usual leotards and tight tights but were very frilly oldish clothing :o)
My first trip to a Japanese hospital and Arimatsu Festival
A few days before my birthday, I got a horrible cold and stomach bug. I've been sick often from working with kids and their heebiejeebies since I started working last April. But it's nothing bad usally, and most of the time I just down lots ...
... couldn't help but think of your former customer whenever I pushed The Buton). They had displays which explain in very simple terms each function of a modern automobile like the suspension, steering, drive train complete with displays and real chassis broken down to the bare essentials for each of the popular variations of any given technology. They had displays of every engine every produced by Toyota, including state of the art research and development ...
Nagoya, Chubu, Japan jkirby... with people when we got there, but at the same time a completely gorgeous (even hot!) autumn day. In a stroke of luck we managed to find a relatively uncrowded spot next to Otsu-dori - the main boulevard. On top of that, we had the additional fortune of standing next to people that got quickly bored and left, giving us an unobstructed view of all the action. Needless to say, I gladly took the opportunity to go snap-crazy with my digital camera. I had it in mind to ...
Nagoya, Japan xerius... this afternoon. What a hassle that was. I don't envy the poor Japanese man who was trying to help us out. All the cell phone here have digital cameras built in, which I can't stand because all of the new English teachers are now constantly snapping photos. This is not the right place to be if you're camera shy! Last week we went to Nagoya Port to Sea Train Park. Of course, there is no sea, and there weren't any trains. There was a really big ...
