    Sal had got through to the quarter finals of a ladies golf competition and tried to change the time of the game, but the opposition were not very flexible so we said our goodbyes and the boys and I went to church. St Mary's in Caterham was a nice contrast to our usual experience - quite high church Anglican with robes, candles and liturgy.     ... we headed downtown for a walk to Yerba Buena gardens which are overlooked by St Patrick's Church and have a lovely waterfall feature.

    Feeling a bit hot and tired we headed back to the shade of Union Square and sat and people-watched for a while before grabbing a slice of pizza for lunch.

    ... but being here transports you to another time and gives you a real appreciation for Art and History. A break from the Louvre later in the day and on to Musee de L’Orangerie where Monet chose to house his paintings of the complete cycle of Water Lilies, a landscape of water lilies, weeping willows, reflection of trees and clouds that is 2 meters high and almost 100 feet long.
