    ... but we enjoyed the journey, and loved the large lift that took us up and down. We had a couple of calls from Alex, who was not having a good time, had fled her friends place in Sydney and was not feeling very well.     ... the base of the column was the fallen warrior. The square--la Place de la Constitution--was filled with carnival rides and food vendors, games and souvenir stands. At the far side Karen stopped to look at the prices on a sightseeing bus--very reasonable for seniors, so onboard we went, to the very front of the tall, double-decker lime-green bus!
