... he returned from outside and removed the coats. American frat boys stories. The most decedant Eclairs ever.

Then onto a Salsa club with much dancing and knocking people out the way. A very naughty trouble maker.

The final club where Jamie and I managed to distroy over 30 glasses with a miss timed spin.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope everyone is having a great time eating turkey and watching football back home :). I'm in a country where we aren't subjected to the awful sport of football fortunately. Unfortunately they don't typically celebrate Thanksgiving either. Luckily I am reasonably close to one of my best friends from the states and we were able to celebrate turkey day in typical American fashion. This morning I travelled for 4 hours by train to ...

Geneva to Paris to Sedan to Bastogne

... arrived on time. The sky was overcast most of the way so there wasn’t much to see, and the plane was very full in any event, so I couldn’t see much from my aisle seat. Since I had officially left from France, there were no formalities on arrival.

I picked up my rental car, a Renault Clio (diesel), which is much larger than the early models used to be. I left immediately for the Sedan area about 3 ½ hours to the north-east, stopping briefly for lunch on the roadside ...

Our Day in the Country

... We then made our way to our host's house. It was easily found. Upon ringing the doorbell, you instantly heard the 3 dogs barking. We came inside and were greeted by them all. Two dogs were hers and one belongs to the neighbor. They were Phoebe, Spoogy, and Nina. Our host was Karyn (I think I'm spelling it right).

We got our things settled in and then left with them to take the dogs on a long walk. There is ...

City in the trees

Of course I needed to visit Luxembourg, hiding away there between France, Germany and Belgium. It is the fifith smallest country in the world. It is very hilly and surrounded by trees. The hostel is down at the bottom of a cliff, yay! The city of course is quite small, but it is surrounded by ruins and forest which makes it quite a unique city in amongst the hustle and crowds of all the other major cities. The people there speak French and their own language, Luxembourgish I suppose.

Another country off the list!

... kept us highly entertained even to this day. Noreen was fighting with her bed and I was struggling a bit with mine. I was on the bottom bunk and she was on the top. Trying to put a fitted sheet that's too small on a mattress while kneeling on said mattress proved quite a hilarious challenge for Noreen. It ended with her fighting with the mattress and pulling it our of the frame to get the cover to fit. In the end it did. We ...

Luxembourg - the old City

I love this place!! The breakfast at our hotel is surprisingly good - completely out of character considering the rest of the place. We pack up and head to the old city - narrow streets, nowhere to park, but gorgeous. We all want to wander around there, so we gradually make our way to the edge of the old town and find a public parking lot that has several spaces open. I try to interpret the ticket dispenser and finally conclude that there is no ...

On the move again, in a bit of a random direction

... the grey slated roofs best admired from the Chemin de la Corniche, a walkway along some of the old city walls. The unpronouncable-without-showering-everyo ne-with-phlegm Pfaffenthal was much the same, only more green, but not so good views of the city. Finally, surrounding and containing the rest of the old town are a series of splendid parks, perfect for whiling away a few hours in the sun. I actually really like this town!!

Country and City of Banks

... small country, all the cartoons on TV and in the newspaper seemed to not have words, just gestures and sound. The weather was kind of grey, the food was good. We discovered Croque Monsieurs (like grilled cheese sandwiches with ham -delish!)

Paris to Luxembourg

... Casemates - tunnels and chambers dug to further fortify Luxembourg city. Saw Notre Dame church and walked along the park at the bottom of the valley where we found an old church built into the side of the hill. Luxembourg is a beautiful medieval valley.
