Apparently Stage 1 of the Tour kicks off today in York and the riders will see a giant swath of West and North Yorkshire. I have to admit the main focus for us what the preparation for the next day and the all important climb up Holme Moss in Stage 2. ... huge number of people come to visit at that time (35,000, we heard), then the place shuts down for awhile, probably to clean up and give the staff a needed break. So our whole trip was basically constructed around the 6:15 am visit we were able to book 3 months before, at Dan's request.
