Hi all. We arrived safe and sound! It was a really early start getting up at 2am but we had loads of time in the end after dropping the car off at Owens work and getting a taxi across to the airport (from now on they will be called cabs though obvs) Owen was nearly dead by 5.30 as he was overdue about 3 breakfasts by then so Frankie and Benny administered him some first aid in the form ...

... the block to find a restaurant. Deciding we wanted to "do America" without visitingf chains like McDs or Dennys, the first independant restaurant was a traditional German one (huh ??). So we parked ourselves down for our first American meal of Wiener Schnitzel with a stein of beer!!

Started to plan the next 2 weeks!

... was a room with a big 3D TV screen (wall-sized) and Crush the sea turtle (from Finding Nemo) came on and interacted with the audience. It was aimed at the younger children and he tended to interact with the 4-5 year olds sitting up front but he threw in a few grown-up references also. Obviously, there was a man with a microphone sitting in a room acting as the character and cameras on the audience ...

... a little bored and almost left again, then it seemed like it got even sunnier out so we decided...let's go brave the wave pool again.

We got in the wave pool and stayed for like two hours! We had a blast! Every time a big wave would come we would get a little better at staying afloat. After a few waves we swam all the way out where the wave machine was and got really brave, riding crests at their tallest points.
