Wonderful Stay

Stayed at the Waverly for a weekend during a trade show and loved it. We're close to Atlanta and go there often for weekends. This will be our new place to stay. It's on the very north edge of the city off 285, but close enough in to get to things, the food is fantastic, the staff is wonderful, and the rooms are huge, immaculate and comfortable. I WANT their mattress...the beds and feather pillows are enough to make you want to linger - but if you do you'll miss the fantastic breakfasts!!! The Galleria shopping is disappointing (as others have noted) but Atlanta is full of shopping destinations.

We stayed there in 12/03. Beautiful hotel. Staff was great. Indoor pool very nice. Breakfast was excelent. Good location to get anywhere. No complaints whatsoever

The reviewer on Oct. 28th was dead on about the Waverly. It's a good hotel, but its surroundings leave something to be desired. The Galeria in its day was great. A bustling two-level mall full of unique boutique stores. I remember "The Chef," a store for gourmet cooks. There used to be movie theaters, a restaurant/game room where you could order from your table over a speaker system (kids' paradise), a Chicago-style pizza restaurant... Those days are long gone. The Galeria is now a depressing place. The top level stores are gone and are now used for convention space. The bottom level is only 3/4 full -- if that.

Cumberland Mall is not much better. But the hotel itself is still a good one.

Why stay anywhere else when in Atlanta? A great hotel, with lovely rooms and they are huge, extremely clean, and very comfortable. The exercise room is a FULL health club with indoor pool for those who like to swim laps. Incredible breakfasts and wonderfully hospitable staff.

Easy access off of 285 highway. Great rates and absolutely one of the best stays. Enjoy!

Great Beds, Great Food, Great Place

I refuse to stay at any other hotel in Atlanta. This one is simply the best. The staff is attentive, the rooms immaculate, the beds are 'heavenly' even though it's not that particular chain, and you'll be hard pressed to find a better experience in Atlanta.

#1 in Atlanta???? Puhleeze!

First, let me state that there is nothing wrong with this hotel. I had a club floor room that was pleasantly decorated, well cared for and the staff could not be nicer. My objection is to the #1 ranking of this property. It is nowhere near anything of interest in Atlanta, 7 miles from the good restaurants in Buckhead and in the middle of an office park (which is why I stayed here rather than at the Ritz Carleton in Buckhead which is far superior in every way to the Waverly). Caveat Emptor: The Galleria in the address has no relation to the Gallerias in Houston or Dallas--this one is a desultory space attached to the hotel full of Vegas Art galleries and gaudy clothing stores as well as fast food restaurants and depressingly emptry stores. Across the road is the Cumberland Mall-- a truly B destination mall where Sears and JC Penney profide the class. This hotel is a convention property and while there is nothing wrong with it, it defies the imagination that this is the best hotel in all of Atlanta. I think the W, the Ritzes ==even the Hyatts== are preferable.

This Hotel is the best.My wife and I stayed there two nights in July to attend a conference and everything about the hotel is first rate.Open atrium,very bright and upbeat,good food.spacious rooms,excellent service.If you are staying in Atlanta or are attending an event in the connecting Galleria this is the place.

One of the Best experiences in Atlanta

I am a frequent business traveler to the Atlanta Area and I always have my assistant book me at the Waverley. The open airy feeling of the building with all the glass, the attentive staff, the excellent food, and the closeness to downtown without being in the heart of the horrific traffic and busy streets makes the experience worth it every time. The breakfast is my favorite part and there club floor is so amazing for business cocktails or dessert. I highly recommend the Waverly. Oh, and the person prior to me said that the Galleria was a disappointment. I agree, but if you just follow the signs out of the Galleria over the bridge attached to the building you can go to Cumberland Mall which is a very cool shopping experience.

Excellent service, helpful, friendly & courteous staff; concierge was especially great; excellent food; very nicely appointed; best "conference" food I've ever had--two days of great lunches; would be happy to stay there again. Litte disappointed in the shopping @ the Galleria I must say, but that was a minor disappointment for sure.
