... there, but it has taken millions of years for the rocks to become shaped like they are. Tomorrow we are off to Alice Springs. We have not had telecommunications or Internet for two days out here, and you really feel the remoteness. It has been beautiful days, but very crisp nights. Apparently Alice Springs was -4 degrees the other night, so we are heading into cold cold nights. After that we are heading for Uluru, so prepare yourself for some amazing photos. We walked along South Bank, got refused service at a bar due to lack of ID but found somewhere that would serve us a bit further down!! ... of the time though going to the koala hospital in town (which not only is really good but also free), swimming in the pool in the rain, doing a yoga class in the front room (Jo is a yoga teacher) and then having a huge BBQ and drinking a lot. ... outside the van and watch for whales was such a joy. We did see the, even if they were a long way out. We ended up buying binoculars. We explored the towns of Ulmarra, Laurieton, Wauchope, Port Macquarie and discovered amazing lookouts at Doorigan National Park and Tacking Point. The views from those 2 lookouts were breathtaking. We would loved to have stayed longer, but because of the long weekend our site was already booked. We'll definitely one day be ...
