... example, to keep the table stable with the use of a beer bottle!! It does the trick beautifully.

We spent three nights in Perth and thoroughly enjoyed the city sights, our favourite place being, guess what, the amazing botanical gardens!! They really are outstanding, featuring so many species of indigenous trees, flowers and shrubs in the most lovely layouts. We are blessed to be here in the Spring as far as the plant life goes - the sea is still cold ...

... Cape Leeuwin is the most Southwestern point in Australia. The Leeuwin Lighthouse, built in 1895 is a feature of the coastline where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. Having booked the two o'clock Whale Watching Tour with Naturaliste Charters, we spent some time at the lookout points near Cape Leeuwin for the outside chance of spotting a whale. Unfortunately, the whales were a little too far out. We ...

Dr T rented us a villa for a week. Nice holiday resort. Villa with bedroom including Jacuzzi and shower for us and 2 bedrooms with bathroom for the kids. Happy with it. But, horribly expensive, certainly last minute in the holiday period: http://www.bayviewhotels.com/geographe/ index.cfm?id=0DA81A82-F517-D248-40EF35C 35947F4BA We immediately have a duck as pet! The Caravan Chronicles

Following a bit of merrymaking last evening, we left for Busselton. "Busso" is a sleepy coastal town about 2 1/2 hours south of Perth. It is probably the #1 tourist destination in Western Australia. It features the Busselton Jetty, which is the longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere. It stretches out nearly 2 km into the Indian Ocean ...

... nay, CHeese and CHocolate, now this is what makes the world go around. Hurrah. The journey home the following day was lets say at a leisurely pace, pootling up the stunning WA coastline and whilst it was a bit nippy (and I mean below 25 degrees when I say that), it didn't stop us taking a little walk along the white sands and a break to nibble on some fast melting chocolate and cheese that was never going to make it 30k down the road before it got mullered. hhhmmm yummy.

Day 63 - Perth to Busselton

... wine, food, beauty and relaxed atmosphere.

The landscape on the way down was lovely, and it took an hour less than we'd planned, so we made up the time that we'd lost with our late arrival.

We found Si's cousin's holiday home where we were staying for a couple of nights, then headed off to walk ...

... doors and tasting areas. One winery that we visited, Laurance, had an amazing bathroom. We took many photos on Ash's new fandangled camera and you can see the bathroom for yourselves in the photos attached. We finished the day with a refreshing, sobering swim in the ocean and a huge pub dinner at Settlers Tavern. The next night we went along to see the guys play a gig in Mandurah. They were great and had the crowd up and dancing to their bouncing beats and rolling ...

... fan and shawl limestone formations (see the photos, it'll hopefully make sense!) After that entertaining stop it was off to the apartments, which I found easily, even though Dad was convinced I was on the wrong road! Settled in and then went out to the local Italian restaurant for a great meal and a few beers... Tuesday was the 'Wine For Dudes' tour. It turned out that Mum, Dad and I were (probably!) the oldest ...

... the duration (244 hrs) of our bikes. We saw several different kinds of wildflowers and also 2-3 Kangaroos in the bush. Then on to Bunbury, some of the "Mangrove Boardwalk". Had another nice walk - along the boardwalk and then around the bay. Saw some cool birds as well as some local kids skateboarding along the way. Stopped in at the Dolphin Discovery Centre, only to find it closed (3 pm closure in winter, I guess). So get to Besselton we drove through some Luant ...
