... and catching a plane Monday morning into Darwin.

Meanwhile, not too far away in the school room...... it has been rather rushed this week. I had to make sure that the kids had finished off their units of work and got everything ready to take to school on the way to Townsville on Friday. Next week they are suppose to have 2days of school and then a 'swim clinic' in Charters and swimming carnival on Thursday but as we are out at Townsville at the weekend, it ...

... all you really want is a hot shower, comfy bed and some peace an quiet...... Well - the shed was cosy - we could practically touch each side if we spanned our arms. Fairly bug free - no visible cockroaches for a change. Mattress was in one piece - although felt more like a lumpy custard pie when you sat on it. ... in. We were in town for supplies and a climb to the lookout on top of Castle Hill. The pink granite monolith sits solitarily in the middle of town and dominates the skyline. It's free parking and just under a 3km hike to the top for views over Cleveland Bay to Magnetic Island: our next destination. The Arcadia Fantasea had the title of a low budget adult movie and the price tag of a Hollywood blockbuster. At $178 return the ferry was an investment to a destination we'd done ...

... nice as Cairns'! It did the job of giving us a wash which was all we really wanted. There was a colour run on The Strand so we watched a bit of that before spending the rest of the day walking around Townsville's city centre and chilling out on the beach. That night, we found a quiet residential street and parked Urv there for some zzz's as we wanted to be close to the port for the morning. Next day we woke up early, headed for showers ...
