    Day 21 - Townsville

Started our journey up north again with an uneventful trip. It was a bit hard finding a reasonably priced CV park and settled on Big 4 Walkabout CV park. With discount, $37.80 p/n. They gave us an ensuite site as no powered sites left for the included price. Spent a few hours trying to get sat TV, but again, no luck. I am so over this system and would love a auto one on the roof. Tomorrow we go exploring the town ...

... on an amazing adventure around the island. The car reminded us of a little Barbie doll car but it was pretty nippy. We first headed towards the number one thing to do on the island: the forts walk. This walk took us to the top of a mountain where Australians had built a fort during World War Two to protect the island. We both enjoyed exploring the island together, it was also a very quiet place so it seemed safe enough to allow Lucy to drive too ;) Lucy would rate Magnetic Island a 7/10 it was a beautiful idilic island for a bit of relaxing and the hostel was fairly luxurious for a backpacker. We had a lot of fun on the island but after 30 hours there I feel like ...

... now, but it was so fascinating to see! They were all coming out from everywhere, and following his sounds - even the mother! It was great! After feeding the wallabies, we went back to their guesthouse for an hour or so, so that Thomas and Jonny could play some pool, and they played a game of skimming a ball in the pool. They came back up to base hostel after, where we ate dinner. Ours was free as we had a voucher for a free dinner, free breakfast, and also a free drink, as ...

Townsville is where we are currently and we are still watching the weather. Thursday and Friday are suppose to be the days the cyclone will hit land hopefully well north of here. We will sit tight tomorrow and do the aquarium and other museums and see what the next day brings. Today the road was actually very long and rather monotonous, really for the first time. Passed a lot of scrub land and some pasture before more cane fields appeared. Today ...
