... for 20 years. There are laws to prevent them hassling other street users but they end up in a cycle of emergency room, police cells and back on the streets where there is the occasional night hostel but no public sanitation for them. Travelling into town we checked out the Coit Tower - a folly like structure provided to the city from Ms Coit. From this high tower on top of a hill we could see the city for miles. The tower also contains murals dating from the New Deal era. ...

    Soaking Up San Francisco

It was here that we found a fresh fruit stand and innocently bought 10 fresh, large juicy strawberries for…$20!!!! We didn’t realize until it was too late and we ...

... Suddenly I realised from the photos that the man who had held the door open for us was in fact the owner!!! I then mentioned this to Sarah whilst cursing our luck that we didn't have a longer chat with him and got him to jump us up the queue. Anyway we quickly move up the queue as it's apparently easier to find a table for two. We have a fantastic seafood meal washed down with a Cloudy Bay Sauvignon blanc and start ...

Over Golden Gate and Back Again

... Moss Beach was not until 4pm, we decided to head north so we could cross the Golden Gate Bridge. We drove over the bridge and then ended up eating at Sam's Anchor Cafe in Tiburon, Marin County. We got there early enough that it was easy to get a parking space and a great table outside on the deck. Man that sun was nice. By the time we were done with our meal the place was packed. Most of our ...
