We arrived late on Thursday night so had to creep around trying to unpack in the dark.
The next morning we got up without much idea of what there was to do in Brisbane, so we asked the guy at reception what to do. He recommended the Lone Pine koala sanctuary. ... Afterwards we went out and found a rest area 30k away and found a perfect spot so we parked up, unpacked a bit more and made dinner. It was yummy stir fry which was good! Afterwards I got to open some birthday and Christmas cards and presents from back home which was lovely and really nice. In the end I chose to travel with Virgin Australia, travelling economy with a return flight costing $2123. Virgin Australia has a good reputation, there is only one stopover each way and the cost is not too expensive for my wonderful employers. Also, the flight there gets me in London at 7:20am ...
Today was the big day, My first day in Beijing. I got to the Brisbane Airport at 9:30 for an 11:20 flight to Kuala Lumpur, it was a 6 1/2 hours.
