Sophora Japonica and Soapbox speakers

... three days off ahead. On Sunday we decided to go to Hyde park to enjoy the nice weather with a picnic and some slacklining! We spent some time listening to the speakers...aka crazies on speaker's corner argue and ramble on about religion and politics, which proved to be quite entertaining and afterwards brian somehow got me back up on a slackline. I'm not saying it was the most ...

Snow

Hey, Long time since i wrote last... oops Sunday afternoon i had off, so Joy(matron) and i went to Crawley to see 'bride wars' oh my god hilarious. absolutely loved it. This week has been an odd one. It snowed Sunday night and all Monday so we had a winter wonderland outside. It was absolutely beautiful. During break the kids went out onto the patch and had snowball fights, went sledging down the hill and made snowmen. At first the snow ball fights didn't look like ...

A not so white Chrissy in London

... deposit back. Amy and I then went and checked out Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, walked along the Thames, walked the back streets of the old town, got some pics of London Bridge & Tower Bridge and then checked out the London Tower. It was closed (as everything was on the 25th & 26th) so we couldn't go inside to see the Crown Jewels - maybe next time. We then headed to Brick Lane to get one of London's famous curries. It seemed a very sketchy area ...

Living the life of a tourist

... many people it was hard to see. Then when we went to see the actual guards change places the only thing I saw was two men step out form under an arch, then two other men step into it. After that we went out for lunch at a tiny resteraunt that had about six tables, but the food was great! Then we went to St. Paul's Cathedral, and it had even more dead people, but it was also where Princess ...

Day 3

... tower to take pictures. We then headed toward toward the Palace for the changing of the guards. It was extra cool because the first band came in as always then the Kings band on horseback came though. From there we had the rest of the afternoon to do whatever we thought looked cool. My group of friends decided to go to the London Eye. I had seen it before, but I ...

Radio 1: Big Weekend

... Jack White just oozes cool. So a cracking day out. Saw some phenomenal bands live - Pendulum and Gallows; and became a new fan of a few more - Black Kids and Nelly. Caught up with a few old mates, drank loads of cider, it was beautiful weather all day and I didn't have to pay a penny to go. Sweet. One last thing: I cannot even attempt to say just how good Pendulum were. They blew the roof off the place. Immense!

Holiday Break... London

... between "street kids" clammoring in an effort to outdo the previous... we were lucky enough to get half price tickets the morning of the production... at Leicester Square ticket booth... ending up with second row... which in turn prompted two of the musican/artists/rock stars to jump off the stage and pass a few pairs of drum sticks to Carsten and Aidan... the whole way back to the tube (subway) and the B&B we kept ...

Our last day on vacation

... was more plausable. At any rate, we adjourned back to our hotel and then went out for Indian food around the corner. We are sitting here, not looking forward to the 10 hour plane ride back. The plane lands at SFO at 1:40 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. Larry leaves for Oklahoma on Thursday and Lauren goes back to Santa Monica on the same day. Talk about a quick return to our lives.

Going into the apartment

We are very tired, yet wide awake. We have just arrived at our apartment. There is one entrance with a 24 hour doorman. The apartment is just a 1 bedroom, however it is fairly large for a 1 bedroom (about 650 sq ft). It has wooden floors in the entryway and living room. It has a TV and something they call Freeview ...

Mayfair and Park Lane done dirt cheap

... but that's it. Having said that, no woman could say anything so mushy. In the long run it was a good thing I forgot the Valentine's Day present for Jo. As it turned out I needed the money for the plane trip home... * * * Harrod's department store must make more money charging tourists $2.50 for dumping backpacks than they do selling m**chandise. You're not allowed to ...
