We got up at 7:20 today, with breakfast at 8:00, leaving at 9:00. Our first activity was a choice between a hike to Lake Grasmere or a walk in the village of Grasmere where Wordsworth is buried. We chose the hike with Ron. They were both ace, their little faces were fab as the concentrated on not dropping their arms! Had a wander round the shopping bit looking at all the gorgeously expensive knick knacks, and then had an hour or so in the play centre at the top.. Benji enjoyed himself, but bella ...

... then gave in and admitted defeat- very windy again, which seems to be the running theme through this holiday! It is the lakes, after all. Went downstairs in to the inner cabin bit, had a cuppa and a flapjack and tried to pacify Bella who was feeling very sorry for herself. Had lunch in Pooley Bridge, in a very nice tea room opposite the toilets - I had a ham, vegetable and lentil soup with cheese on toast which ...
