As you know we usually have a trip about half way through February. This year we had a couple of nights in Coniston.

Had a big sleep. Was going to do a short walk but when we were about to start the rain came pouring in. Arun and I decided to stay at the hostel while Pete went around Rydal and Grasmere. ... but despite that I trudged into town and up the hill to give the Elephant and Camel vegetarian restaurant a try for lunch.

The cafe is a very quirky little place, which unfortunately was empty the whole time I was there – but the coffee and home made soup was great, I’m only disappointed that the bread was a little less than appealing and I didn’t have space for a cake. I will be back next time I’m passing through.
