To make matters worse to take anything over the limit the airline want $50 a ...

A Cathedral with Dawn French

... than uploading photos and enjoying having a room to myself for the first time in weeks, I didn't really do much. I got up with the intention of seeing two museums at a place called Albert Dock and taking up the suggestion of the lady yesterday to go to the top of the Anglican Cathedral as on a fine day you can see out to Wales. I walked down to the docks to find that liverpool is under construction. It took a little while to find albert dock because of all the diversions, but I ...

Scouser's paradise

... enjoy early beers to get ready before the game. We then joined Anfield Road two hours before the game, to get some impressions of the pre-match athmosphere. Well except the wrong team choice (at least for me), everything was great, loud and nice athmosphere in all the crowded pubs around the stadium, plenty to cheers for (Liverpool was playing Reading), and great beer available everywhere.

The stadium itself is amazingly situated, its ...

Ferry cross the Mersey, and magnificant cathedrals

... chosen and built between 1962 and 1967, and therefore completed eleven years earlier than the Liverpool Cathedral. Both are very different and while I was mesmerized by the Liverpool Cathedral, Brian was taken by the light and space of the Metropolitan Cathedral, however both are magnificent as you can see by the photos. After this it was time for dinner so we walked into the centre of Liverpool for a pub meal of fish n'chips before setting off around 7.30pm for ...

Blackpool

John took me to Blackpool. He may have wanted to show me a UK beach resort. The street along the beach was full of decorations. I took a picture of his profile in the car. It was just a memory of Blackpool. We were on the way from Preston, where we met his old friend, and John talked about the word "love", because people there used "love" meaning "you" very often, when they talk to someone, like "Good morning, love!". That sounded awkward to him.
