    Great Staff at your Hotel

    from

We had a wonderful time. The staff made a real difference in our stay. We had a such a good time we are going back in March.

Beutiful place to stay for a decent price.

    from

The hotel is beutiful inside and out. When we arrived to the hotel, the people that worked there were very nice and polite. We received 5 star treatment for 3 star price. We will definately come back to Fort Lauderdale next time.

Great Ft. Lauderdale Beach location for an excellent price

    from

This Ft. Lauderdale beach hotel was perfect. The hotel is in a great location. as it is right across the street from the beach and is walking distance to all of the bars/restaurants and shops. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable for a weekend night in Ft. Lauderdale. Please note: This is an older hotel, and does not have the glitz of the brand new, modern hotels. If this does not bother you, I strongly recommend staying at this hotel.

    Clean, good location, helpful staff

    from

We just returned home from 2 weeks in S. Fla and stayed at Waterfront Beach Resort at the end of our trip to be near brother and airport. I am rating this above average because we had an nice time there and they are fair value. It's not a 4 star hotel of course so don't stay there if you expect that atmosphere. We were on 3rd floor no elevator but no problem for us. Yes it is one of the 'older hotels' on Ft. Lauderdale strip but it is renovated and updated compared to its many sad neighboring hotels. We stayed in a large efficiency in the front building overlooking the pool, palms, and beach across the street and had plenty of room, great air conditioning, high ceilings and it was clean and redone and very comfortable. We stayed in the front building so I can only write about it. (Frankly the back buidling wasn't appealing). The front pool is clean. All rooms are nonsmoking but all the smokers smoke at the pool and outside their rooms. It is a small area and can be annoying if you hate it like I do. But it was not crowded a lot of the time and the pool was empty a lot as well. We --chose --to be in South Fla after Easter and the snowbirds gone home and before Memorial Day. I got the internet special of stay 3 nights and get 4th free plus 2 all day passes on the water taxi ($5X 2= $10 value). On that water taxi ride I answered a question correctly and won 2 tickets for free 'pain killers' at Pussers bar at the Doubletree beach. Also on water taxi ticket on the back is a coupon for a free dessert at Shooters on the intercoastal and it just so happens my brother took me to dinner there (surprise) and I presented 2 coupons and we got 2 huge pieces of key lime pie. I loved that Waterfront included the water taxi in the price of the room because my husband and I enjoyed the beautiful ride so much and took it to IMAX /Science Museum rather than take the car and park and all. It took all day with going to lunch and seeing two movies and stopping for our free drinks, very relaxing. I probably could not have gotten him to go on the water taxi if they did not include it in the price!!

Overall I think the Waterfront Inn Beach Resort is an excellent value for the money. Can't expect any more from their offer. The staff was fair and prompt and the cleaning staff friendly. We didn't eat the breakfast as it was not what we like for breakfast and we were in Ft. Lauderdale when the easterly winds were blowing so hard you couldn't eat on the front porch as you'd have to hold everything tight and the riptides were so strong the red flags were up and life guards did not want people swimming. Free parking, breakfast, beach towels, nice pool, clean rooms, nice staff, no problems. My husband likes chain hotels so I liked it better than he did as first glance but then after we were on the water taxi etc. he too agreed it was just fine. Would we stay there again? Yes if same deal and package. If not would look around not because we didn't like the hotel but I just like to try different things....

    A few problems

    from

We were put in a room in the very back building. We thought we were getting a one bedroom apt. like the photos. This room was the pitts! Very small and very dilapidated. Cabinets in kitchen didn't close, back door was too small for opening so the rain came in, sheets did not fit on the beds, bathroom needed a complete makeover. WE also couldn't open the drapes because we were on the firtst floor and everyone walke right by the window and the view from the bedroom was alot of garbage dumpsters! Also, they tend to put the young crowd in the back, they were partying very late and the next day the pool area was filled with beer bottles and cans. I have to say when we complained, they moved us to the front building. We then had a very nice apt. on the 3rd floor, overlooking the pool and beach. If you stay, make sure you ask for the front building, it's completely different from the back, much nicer! The staff was nice and helpful. We never had enough towels or washclothes, but if you asked they brought them. Overall, we had a nice time and would consider going back, only if we could stay in the front building.

A nice friendly little hotel with a great atmosphere and proprietors willing to listen to complaints but nothing is done to rectify them.

Biggest complaint is lack of cleanliness. Cleaners do very little except change towels and make the beds - sometimes with sheets too small. Corners of rooms and under beds are never cleaned and the rooms are covered in thick dust. Doors and paintwork are dirty and tacky. Had ants in the bedroom and a mouse in the kitchen. Benefits include - Good shower. Plenty hot water - lots of clean, fluffy towels ever day - very comfortable king-size bed and comfortable seating in the lounge. TV in bedroom as well as lounge with Cable TV. Beach-front position. Also continental breakfast provided and afternoon tea.

    Waterfront Inn

    from

We had 4 rooms at the Waterfront Inn pre-cruise.I visited the Inn back in April and booked our rooms at that time. The Inn is in a really good location. It is a 6 block walk to the Beach Place and right across the street from the ocean. The front porch sold me.Continental breakfast was served everyday(very nice variety)and tea in the afternoon. The perfect meeting place to get out of the sun. The rooms are old and need some redo especially the bathrooms. Some of the rooms have kitchens which also need a makeover. The pool area is nice with new tables and chaise lounges.Inside the office is very cozy. I would recommend only a night or two stay.If the rooms lost the carpeting and did some tile work it would bring up the rating. We did enjoy the stay.

    Very cute little place

    from

We were pleasantly surprised... nice pool area, beautiful porch with a complimentary breakfast each morning, perfect location, (cross the street to an amazing beach)...the place is older, but it was clean and comfortable... we would go back, the rates were very reasonable!!

Great deal-if you get what you pay for

    from

This resort is almost identical to the pictures on the web. Right on the beach strip, clean, helpful manager, efficient staff(just not too smiley). I got a web coupon and paid only $65 per night, two double beds. Had small fridge,(no extra charge) also microwave and coffeemaker. Continental breakfast was fruit, muffins, coffee, yogurt, juice, coffee, coffee cake. Good thing was- they left it all available until about 10:30. They have parking at no charge which is great. Stayed in building #1-steps from front pool and also close to street front veranda. They have 2 more buildings in the back. Some minor problems were washer in building not working and looked ancient. Manager said other buildings had washers but I did not want to lug clothes that far. Pool did not seem as warm as described but I was there in 89degree heat wave so water may have seemed cool or they just stopped heating it. The nice breeze from the ocean made the heat very endurable and I usually have to hide from extreme temps. Left for Disney 2 days and then returned to this resort. Were put in another building in the back #3. Phone in room did not work and took 2 days to fix, was blocked from ocean breeze, and spring breakers were screaming right outside our door by the pool at 2 a.m. (they needed beer). I would return in heartbeat at similar rate but only if I could stay in front building and not pay their normal resort prices.

    Website is deceiving

    from

The website makes this place look spectacular! Don't be fooled. It is just ok. Not the worst place I have ever stayed, but not as nice as the pictures make it out to be. Service wasn't that great at all. Room was generally clean, but lots of mildew in the bathroom, furniture was beatup, bathtub floor was black. Windows had no screens and tub drained very, very slowly so you stood in water while you showered. My parents didn't even stay because their room was much worse than ours. They moved to another hotel. Price of our room was $40/night more than the awesome room my parents found at another hotel just down the road.

    USA Arrival

... We had totally forgotten that everything is “bigger and better” in the U.S. haha. We grabbed our 2 coffees and a blueberry muffin and enjoyed them in the airport whilst waiting to exchange some money. We managed to brush our teeth and freshen up also.

8am rolled around, we exchanged our money, and next on the agenda was to find the tri-link bus connection to the train station. We had to catch the free shuttle to the train station and get a bus ...

Helping homeless people really does hit you deep and is exactly what teenagers need to experience growing up, otherwise they could turn out bad and not appreciate anything.

I don't have to depart till tomorrow at 6:55pm from Miami Airport so all day today I have just been hanging around ...

After an hour on the water we returned to the dock and were directed to a little enclosure next to the tourist centre (where I bought a can of Bud and some postcards) where we saw a 15 minute gator wrestling show conducted by one of the cast of Gator Boys - Chris Gillette. He was surrounded by about 10 quite large reptiles, all of whom completely ignored him. Unlike the crocodiles back home alligators are apparently quite docile ...

When we left the restaurant, we heard a rumble in the distance. It was still very humid and we could see the contrast in the sky, a storm was rolling in towards us. A flash of lightening lit up the sky, followed shortly by a very loud thunder rumble. There was both blanket & fork ...

We left Marathon behind about two week ago. We could have taken the ICW and stayed on calm waters but we didn't. Instead, we chose to go up the Hawk Channel (or The Outside as boaters refer to the ocean). We made this choice for several reasons. First and foremost folks warned us that the ICW (or The Inside, as boaters refer to the ICW) through the Keys was tricky to navigate due to lots of skinny, shallow waters as well as a multitude of crab pots. Folks also told us it would be ...
