For some reason it's unusual travelling alone in this country and a question “where is your companion” is heard many times. There are travelling a lot of Israeli around, so if you are not guessed to be an American, Israeli is the second most likely option. Beer is cheap here, San Miguel heavily prevailing with Red Horse as a 7% alternative. There is a lot of prostitution over here and even ...

The fort is a tourist site, but there is not really much to see. When we got there the small museum was closed, but we walked around, and the old stone architecture was something to see.

We flew into Cebu from Hong Kong. Nice direct flight and on Cebu Pacific Airlines. After running around Cebu for a few days, listening to great music, visiting the different hotspots like Mr. A's and The Coast Bar. We asked around to find a good short trip out of Cebu, and one of our ...

It was good to be back in Cebu. But I had already been in the Philippines for the best part of 2 months and feared I was running way behind schedule. So it was important we could leave to continue the journey asap. The next ship was on Saturday, which would arrive in General Santos the following day.

... Enjoying lookouts, the nightlife (A couple of great bars in Cebu I highly recommend and the girls are awsome), and the locals. I decided to book a ferry to a place on Negros called Dumaguete. Before I left though I did sign a lease for that apartment though. Good move I thought. That way my HQ would be in Cebu and I would branch out to see the Visayas and Mindanao.
Cebu I highly rate though. Even now as one of my most favourite destinations. The ...

The pizzas were rather plain - either sausage, tuna or mushroom, but with as much San Miguel draft beer as we wanted. Yoong wasn't impressed, but I thought it was a good deal for 150 pesos (about A$4). We then took a jeepney to Colon St downtown to have a look at some of the tourist sites. First was the Basilica del Santo Nino (Church of the Holy Infant ...

We took a pit stop and Juliet and I ate pork on a stick with some type of Filipino barbeque sauce, it was pretty good. Then we finally got to Cebu City, which smelled like pure **** when we got off the bus. We took a Jeepney to our hotel, called the Mercedes Hotel, which trust me is not nearly as high class as the cars, but at this point its like heaven to me. It has airconditioning, a TV, a bathroom with a door, a ...
