which of course Mum thought we should be at the airport 3 hours or something
ridiculous prior. Us Whittaker’s ended up waking at 3AM and the Cormick’s were
clever for once and woke up at 5. We met at the airport after we were driven by
our personal chauffers and waited to board at 8:10. We boarded the plane and
there were 2 economy class sections. All the passengers were ...

... a bunch of street vendors outside selling the obligatory chicken and pork skewers. We also saw the unusual, fried crickets, Meelee bugs and other insects. Not exactly my cup of tea but fascinating none the less. Tired and worn out from walking along Bangla Rd, we caught a cab back to our hotel and had a pretty average meal at one of the nearby ...

Walked down Bangla Road where to describe is very difficult. Hawkers, prostitutes and lady boys. People everywhere. We were told about a curfew tonight by Lyn a friend living in Bangkok. Nothing happening here. Or so I thought. Few drinks and a late dinner. There is a ...

So after a 9 hour flight (which was surprisingly ok thanks to candy crush and yoga magazines) I have arrived in Phuket. I won't lie, pretty much the whole flight and on my arrival all I could think was 'oh god what have I done'. This feeling was further amplified when talking to my taxi driver who was horrified when he realised I was travelling alone, not meeting up with friends, and just asked 'but why?'. However I tried not to ...

... about the 3 tones of Thai that can change the meaning of words, very confusing. The second stop was canoe and swimming at Hong island. We didn't have to work as we had expert paddler to take us round and we were pleased as some bits were a bit congested! It was going well until I sliced my heel on some coral at the photo opportunity. It was my first canoe first aid experience. Iodine, cotton ...
