    ... cute smaller towns surround the lake. We didn't take time to stop and walk through the towns but would be fun to do sometime. The day we drove around the lake, it was really windy and cold. Big change from the weather we had been experiencing. Had to break out my coat!!!

    Monday, July 6, 2015. PCT day 78 miles 1189.2-1198 Today is a nero day. I slept in until 06:30 and left camp by 0730. The trail was all downhill, 8.5 miles into Sierra City, which is at 4200 feet elevation. It definitely felt warmer/hotter down here. I arrived here by 11:30ish. The dark thunderclouds that were building throughout the day, conglomerated enough to begin pouring rain and unleash some thunder.
