... art of the western world from
the Middle Ages to the early 20th century, as well as a restaurant,
cafeteria, gift shop and book store. The lower level also seems almost
forgotten in the sense that those galleries seemed to have rather few visitors,
while the painting galleries on the upper level were mobbed on a weekday
afternoon. But that’s partly because of one of the great things about the

... side is meetings with the First Lady. From here we could see the Washington monument building, however the base of it is currently under maintenance from the 2011 earthquake. Our next stop was the Lincoln memorial, this was quite a bit further away but was amazing to see, it was huge and normally overlooks the reflection pool and the Washington monument however it was drained at this time. What a great hotel! Justin came to our room to let us know that our flight had been delayed in Dublin due to the bad weather in the Northeast US. ... from the beginning, very interesting. We saw the original Star Spangled Banner 32 feet in length first made in the war of 1812.

It is a long day and you can only learn so much before you need a break, so after lunch we went to the movies to see World War Z - pretty good for a zombie movie.

We catch the Metro back to Courthouse where we live and have dinner at a local Italian restaurant - really good Bolognese!
