      Kanazawa to Hiroshima

... 3 PM. For the first time we chose a hotel at a distance from the train station as we wanted to be close to the Hiroshima Peace Park. We indulged in a cab. There was a long line of pristinely dressed taxi drivers waiting outside the station. Of note all seemed to be as least 75. Ryan thinks it is their wives sending them out to get a job after they retire. I wonder if it is the safest population to be driving people around? We arrived ...

... perfect recipe to warm us up on the cold day of touring. Upon our request to pay one of the chefs requested to take a photo. We obliged wondering if it was because we had already made our Japan TV debut eating burgers? Post lunch we switched things up and boarded the Right Loop Bus towards the Geisha district. ... my car doesn't have an ETC card reader and a car navigation system, which are essential to take the express way (because of a large discount) and to drive to unfamiliar places. I chose the Mazda car rental dealer and it was 5 minutes' walk from the station. I booked a car for 11:00, but they prepared the car for us just after we had arrived there at 10:15. So we were able to hit the road in five minutes. The first destination was Shirakawa-go, a ...

... it was all gross, it moved me very much and my quote given at the end of the tour, was actually published in the local newspaper. Very cool.

I loved Tokyo... wandering down back streets and finding cheap things to buy. The food permanently displayed in plastic replicas of the dish it represented. The way all the traffic stopped and the intersection was then swarmed with pedestrians going every which way!

      We went ...
