Simon and his family were actually heading towards where I needed to go the next day for my flight, so they were nice enough to drop me off at the airport. I couldn't have asked for a better stay in Germany, it was such a fantastic time, I learned so much, and had such a perfect stay!

I cut and pasted ...

Cycled into Koblenz for the 09.00 cruise along the Rhine. An early start which allowed us a tourist free viewing of the majestic Emperor Wilhelm I statue through the early morning haze. It appears that the mists/fogs/haze that protect the grapes around Wurzberg also protect the grapes along the Rhine!

Inside to start with as the air remained cool. A good location as we ...

... town. St Goarshausen is famous for its Loreley rock, which is actually more of a cliff rising to about 120 metres above the river and marking the narrowest part of the entire Rhine, which runs from Switzerland through Germany to Holland, where it drops out into the North Sea. This actual point is the most famous or notorious section of the Rhine Gorge; a very strong current combined with hidden rocks and reefs which have caused countless ...
