    We've had a great day today, helped by sunshine and dryness, even though we were a bit cold at times! We took a train to Olsztynek, about 30km south. After ages yesterday trying to work out the buses, we found we could get a train from Olsztyn West, which is closer than where the buses go from, and takes about half the time.     ... a) is cheaper, b) has its own basin and 3) isn't 1 1/2 flights of spiral stairs down to the toilet.
    I've been amazed by the ease of eating, even for my weird diet. There is a cafe chain called Greenway (though Gdansk had a different one called Bioway) which is 100% vegetarian and labels food vegan or/and gluten free.     ... of paper and the farmers wife and her husband became quite animated. So the First Lady and the farmers wife marched us across these paddocks through locked gates etc- I started to think - something has gone wrong here - no cemetery in sight. So we get to these trees in the middle of nowhere and sure enough it's a tiny cemetery . When we found our relative's grave we couldn't believe it!!! Really touching ...

    We met a lovely couple over breakfast who told us how Poland had changed and how poor it used to be. Now it has a fabulous infra structure and is quite modern - only in some of the country towns can you see the remainder of some of the poverty. So we are off to discover some of our ancestors roots today.
