... are simply freezing. This African winter sure keeps me on my toes. My room however is cosy and I'm keeping warm under my blankies. My roommates are already asleep. It is 10pm and I just got in. It is the latest I been up since I got here. Maybe because it is Friday after all. I share a little dorm house with 2 lovely ladies, one is a zoology student / bulldog owner from the US and one is a chatty Parisian who has told me all about her adorable cat back home that constantly falls ...

... as it only reached 20C. Everything is relative and for local people they feel the cold.
September is also "strike month" so the petrol pump attendants are on strike which means that they hide away from the pumps in their casual clothes and when you draw up to the pump they rush out, fill your car up, take payment and disappear again.

Here we are in the transit lounge in Johannesburg for about 11 hours, waiting for our next flight to Perth. Yawn! The flight was BA was pretty good, a little bumpy at times, but as it was overnight, we just watched our chosen movie and tried to get some rest. The A340 aircraft was quite comfortable. Nothing of interest to report. We'll soon be home and looking forward to it ...

    ... baboon enclosure!

That concluded my very busy weekend. I have been assured by my faithful security guard that I have seen every sight of Pretoria in a single weekend. Oh well, that means I have every other weekend to go beyond the borders of Tshwane Municipality to explore the other delights of Gauteng Province and even further in the depths of South Africa.

Stay tuned for all the merry activities that will take place leading up to Christmas!
