      ... and is quite pretty. There's a hiking trail of about a mile, but it was partly flooded and very mosquito-y, plus it was 90 degrees out, with rank humidity, so I turned around after a few minutes.

      Back at the hotel, I enjoyed a little drinkie in the lounge (ducks had already returned home), where there was live piano music (mostly playing showtunes). It was pleasant.

      After another day lounging around the pool we thought it was time to venture beyond the walls of Hotel de la Paix, which is difficult as the resort lives up to its name, being a sanctuary of peace. Along with six other hotel guests we boarded the shuttle and began our 27 kilometre journey to Hua Hin.
