We arrived at koh lanta and had no where to stay so the minivan driver kindly stopped at a hostel for us, due to it being late chel and I checked in to our first dorm room (luckily we only ended up with 1 other person our room). ... cliff, we were given life vests, and then we jumped off the boat and were told to follow our guide who, intriguingly, was wearing a head torch. We followed him into a cave entrance at the cliff bottom, and all the way in... The mouth of the cave was amazing in it's colour - illuminated only by the colour of the water that filled it. ... islands busiest beach there were no more than 30-50 people spread out over a a couple of kilometres. Dotted along the coast there were scattered beach bars ranging from 5* hotel establishments with pools to ramshackle Reggae bars where you sit on rattan mats on elevated platforms overlooking the sea, there were also bars and restaurants hidden high in the trees with views across the ocean. ... The next day we went to the beach which was stunning. The sea was so blue and surrounded by rocks, truly looked like paradise. However it was so so hot we couldn't lie in it for too long. The other two spots en-route to Lanta were decent as well. The first one in particular. A massive limestone pillar erupting out of the turquoise waters that also had a lot of good coral around it. The main highlight here was a massive purple moray eel curled up amongst some shadowy rocks.
