... 9am until sunset! We visited all of the famous bays and beaches around Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley- monkey beach; bamboo island; maya bay(set of the beach); shark point; and a few other snorkel spots on the island. The weather let us down a bit and after Aus my expectations are so high but we still had a nice day getting out and about. Maya bay was absolutely packed full of people everywhere! You could barely see the beach ...

... we wanted to confirm our speedboat tickets to Koh Lipe tomorrow. Now I have visions of Martin, me and the captain cruising through the sea on a private speedboat. I soon have that vision knocked out of me. We are to be picked up at 9.30 to give them time to collect the other passengers. Oh dear. But it is all booked and everyone is happy.

We get ourselves ready, and then Martin and the minions decide ...

... it was a rustic, quiet and with the exception of a small group in the far corner a empty beach and perfect for chilling out for the last few hours of the day before the sun set. On closer inspection the small group of people didn't seem to be wearing many clothes, in fact they wasn't wearing any. So that's why it was so empty it's a nudie beach. Dad does love a nudie beach! Still we've seem it all before so played frisbee in the sea until sunset. With clothes ...

... random little shop and when he put it in his mouth his face was a big old plate of livers yum! And realising what a horrible but lovely place it was. We both agreed that while we are so glad we came to see it, it's not somewhere we would ever come again. We left Phi Phi the next morning and went straight to Krabi town and got ready to leave for Malaysia the next morning. The place where we stayed tried to charge us 1000baht each for the bus ...

I heard that Ko Lanta has some world-class snorkeling sites at nearby islands, so I figured I'd be remiss if I didn't check them out. I didn't check them out. I thought I was going to because I booked the four island snorkel tour through my guest house. But it turned out to be the cheapie version that goes to second class sites, two of which don't involve snorkeling.
