... to in life do we. :)

After checking into the hotel at around 6 pm we headed out to the local China Construction Bank ATM, which seems to be the best bank to withdraw money from if you have a foreign account. We tried Egg tarts and other cakes at a local bakery and walked the street markets buying toys, ice cream, and other gifts.

We have a long day tomorrow touring Confucius' home, temples, and grave.

Well after being in country nearly two months we got a real break. The Chinese have a big old vacation for their National Day celebration. I'm ashamed to say I don't know if it actually marks some special event, or if it is just a random day selected by the Party to celebrate all things Chinese. ... but instead of drinking it the tea must be dumped. Once the leaves have been washed and the cups have been rinsed, you're ready to serve the tea, but you can't just pour the tea straight into the cups. Instead, you must move the teapot in a circular motion as you pour. I have to say that this lesson was hen you yi si (很有意思: very interesting)!

... watermelon pink with blue stripes. According to him, it was a less gay pink, but I think it just looks silly. Overall, it took them almost two hours to find one weird pink shirt and one red shirt....men.

The masquerade that evening was very fun, but not quite what we expected. It kind of reminded me of jr. high, when no one wants to dance because they think they will look stupid. I guess the Chinese don't have dances through school ...
