... lunch, and the food just kept on coming.

After lunch the kids got to paint traditional Chinese zodiac animals in the old style, with a teacher from the art workshop showing them how to do it.

Some of the kids did pretty well, others not so good, but they all really enjoyed it.

Heidi (UK) and I were the token laowai (foreigners) along for the ride, and we didn't ...

We drop our packs at the side of the service station and start hitting up the trucks. One driver thought about giving us a ride but ultimately chickened out as he might get fined for having too many people in the cabin.

We get a ride in a Dongfeng truck from Hebei going to Tianshui. The cabin is small but ...

... harshly (and still in that patronising voice) while she violently picked off three for me (which is exactly what I wanted to do in the first place--arggg). So ever since then I try to avoid the devil-woman but she seems to ALWAYS work in the fruit section, and I ALWAYS have to buy fruit off her. We make minimal eye contact and even though I try to be polite and thank her for weighing my fruit, she ignores ...
