Amazing sunset at the Matterhorn

Later we moved down beside the lake, sitting on a flat rock to wait for sunset. When it came, we couldn't have been more thrilled! The clouds on top of the Matterhorn moved off, lit from behind with a glorious golden light that added a flair of drama and beauty to the scene. Click,click,click went our cameras as we joyfully captured the magnificence of the place and of the evening.

... guaranteed to read dozens of absolutely horrible reviews...but since this place is so damn expensive, it was really my only option. So as skeptical as I was I walked in and yep, the reviews were pretty accurate. Unfriendly staff, dirty, old, stinky, and the beds were literally on top of each other. I took a video of it snowing in Grächen. This is the main road of the town so you can see a few shops. As you can see the flakes were very small so not much snow fell and the trees were not so white but it was fun nonetheless.Today I went for a long walk which first took me into a forest but after awhile I felt a bit vulnerable so I turned around and walked into the opposite direction. ... halfway to the top, a couple from Virginia told us that there is actually a lift in the cave that takes people up. Those Swiss think of everything! The falls themselves were very impressive – loud, powerful, and amazing to watch.
