... then up high... We even got to go through a cool tunnel. But the two mountain passes we have conquered have been nothing compared to steep gravel sections like these. On the Oberalppass day we were defeated by a brutal off road, loose, steep section. For the first time, I (Jimbo) have become somewhat conflicted. My love of power assets has been tested. For the scenery around here actually seems spoilt by the numerous transmission lines criss crossing ...

In the cable car, we rose quickly into the mist and arrived at the top to what would be an amazing view if it was a clear day. I had a little section of 4 seats and a small table all to myself and my suitcase :) The views were lush - we went right around the side of a massive lake (which I have yet to work out the name of!) and past many towns and cities, in which the buildings are beautiful - each is different and the architecture is so intricate even on normal houses!

Babeth and little 3 year-old Max greeted me at the station, and drove me from Bern centre ...

... Hence, we stocked up on food and decided to have a barbie! Perfect!

So yeah, it's really expensive here, especially when travelling alone without any tour groups whatsoever. The scenery though is amazing! Towering alps crossing each other, adorned with luscious green meadows and interspersed with cottages dotted with cows. Really reminds me of the beautiful stereotypical pictures on the laughing cow packaging!

Hence, word of advice is to really pay a ...
