... Aus. We saw Anni and Michael in Munich in May. We all went out to lunch at a beautiful outdoor Tyrolean restaurant in the hills overlooking Kufstein. Back to relax and sit in the garden of the cottage overlooking the lake that had belonged to Anni's maternal grandmother. ... and with snow. At one point Scarlett counted 26 'waterfalls' on one stretch of road. The roads here are good, easy driving. We're halfway to Nenzing, our next stop - it is Austria/Leichenstein boarder (rather than Switzerland) but Leichenstein is tiny so we'll pass through on our next leg. Tonight we are in a small German village - Bad Aibling. Mostly because it's on our way home and secondly because it has a very good golf course, which we have just played.

Friday, we left Lake Bled in Slovenia and rejoined the motorway on which we had arrived to go northwards. After stopping at the services to purchase the required vignette we entered Austria via the impressive Karawanken tunnel. At 7864m long it is one of the longest we have used this trip. We were soon driving through typical alpine scenery with the hillsides dotted with chalet buildings bedecked with floral balconies, which were set amidst lush green ...
