... list of what to buy for the 3 days. In our shopping trolley there ended up being... 10 loaves of bread, 40 sausages, 2kg of mince, lots of pasta, 4 mahussive cans of baked beans, 96 slices of cheese, 42 eggs and a lot of beer and goon! We ended the trip with only a loaf of bread left over, so it turned out we did pretty well with the quantities!! We had wednesday night in the hostel and then set off for Fraser early ...

Dangar Island am Hawkesbury River, Australia bettyinsydneyAs I am such a slow traveler, I often get the question from people if I ever get bored. I came across this poem from a children's book from 1908 on my friend's wall. Believe me, my young friend, [said the Water Rat solemnly], there is nothing-absolutely nothing-half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Simply messing . . . Nothing seems really to matter, that's the charm of it. Whether you get away, or whether ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia rcys... of her "teeth" but I got to see a turtle and loads of coral and a sting ray and a flamenco dancer fish......it was a very cool experience once you got used to the salty water and let your ears pop. Then we got a LONG bus journey to Airley Beach. We loved it here. Gorgeous apartment, cute little town, lovely beaches and a fabulous lagoon right in the middle of the town. We could have ...
Sydney, Australia jenandniamh... for a swim. Most of Palm beach was actually closed because of dangerous surf and there was only about 10m wide stretch you could actually swim in. It looked pretty funny because everyone was congregated here and the rest of the beach was pretty much deserted! Got my first sunburn despite my factor 40! Idiot that I am changed my top just as we were leaving so i have a nice big red strip at the bottom of my back and criss cross marks at the top!
Sydney, Australia kateinausThe saildown is over, the ship is set up, the Zodiacs are built and we're in port overnight awaiting passengers tomorrow. But first here are some thoughts on what went on before I joined the ship in Montevideo. God South America is a long way away, 13 looong hours flying! And to add insult to injury I lost the exit row seat that I had obtained at 4am when I checked-in in Brisbane for my Sydney to Santiago flight ...
Ushuaia, Australia dunks24... for a while now. We drove for 6 hours and arrived back at Uncle Peter's house. I was still feeling very ill so I just stayed in the RV and went to bed early. The next day we drove another great distance to The Entrance which is just south of Newcastle. Not much to report besides paying $1.45 a liter for Diesel! This is where I am typing this blog now. I am super drained still and my headache has returned, so I will leave it here as I go pass out. Laters
The Entrance, Australia seanathon10... of many a pitiful look when I tell people I paid 30 bucks to go and walk in the footsteps of Harold. 14.Speaking of Harold, the Salvation Amry is legendary here! (But you have to call them the Salvos.) They all look like Harold and play the trumpet and stuff at Xmas and come in pubs collecting. They are Da Bomb. OK, this is a bit of a work in progress to be added to as time goes by. Or maybe there'll be a part 2 - good God, anyone would think I'm making this up as I go along!
Sydney, Australia jo21... those horrific stairs on her own and realized moments later that was an impossible feat. I helped her carry it up the stairs to her house with a great deal of difficulty. when we got it inside we dropped it immediately , it landing with a loud sound that was a cross between a bang and a thud , which alerted laura who was going through her days purchases. The rest of the day was spent assembling the coffee table, lazily lounging around the house watching t.v , eating and chatting away.
