... watch the sunrise which was so pretty!! The plan was to go back to bed, but we decided there was actually no point so packed up and drove a long the beach to Lake Wabby which was a 30 minute walk from the car. It was amazing! Never seen anything like it! We had to catch the ferry back to rainbow at midday and then had to take the car back and clean everything up! It's a good job the trip was no longer than 3 days as the ...
Rainbow Beach, New South Wales, Australia annaobeirne... cartoons. Australia has a lot of flies but this place has noticeably more than any of our other stops. 2 locals emerge from the bar as we sit having our dinner. One bloke says to his mate "This isn't a beer belly, it is the engine of a sex machine" [Think middle aged, beer belly, vest top, short shorts and boots]. They then get into their 4x4 and drive off still clutching their glasses of beer. Needless to say, J hasn't enquired about hair salons here either.
Bye bye Betty
Dangar Island am Hawkesbury River, Australia bettyinsydney... Brisbane the same day his mom was coming home. I just drove her car to the train station and left it there so she wouldn't have to take a taxi home when she got back. It's also a shame though because I would have loved to meet his mom. Colin and his brother are just about the most chilled out down to earth people that I've met on this journey and it would have been interesting to meet the reason for them turning out that way.
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia rcys... later and found out we had to pay $5 a piece to get back to a bus stop that would take our tickets. Just an FYI for anyone else planning on going from Sydney to Palm on a green bus ticket! We ate fish and chips in Neutral Bay on the way home and were exhausted by the end of the day. So headed to bed so we could wake up the next day to head back to work!
Sydney, Australia megangullickson... south over the Sydney Harbour bridge. Stopped for lunch since I was starving and ducked into this internet cafe- now it is pouring rain so decided to update this log completely while I wait for the rain to subside. So far the kiteboarding plan has been a bust and I don't see much wind in the next few days... but I have seen a lot more of the country than I would have from a hostel in the middle of Sydney or ...
Woy Woy, Australia g_shook... for a while now. We drove for 6 hours and arrived back at Uncle Peter's house. I was still feeling very ill so I just stayed in the RV and went to bed early. The next day we drove another great distance to The Entrance which is just south of Newcastle. Not much to report besides paying $1.45 a liter for Diesel! This is where I am typing this blog now. I am super drained still and my headache has returned, so I will leave it here as I go pass out. Laters
The Entrance, Australia seanathon10... Auto sauber.
Narrabeen, Australia maas... The crew seem very nice and most importantly they had personal tv screens. I think alot of people think this is normal but I have recently found out that is not that case so I was very glad to have one. It's a great way to waste time on such a long flight. There was a short stop in Kuala Lumpur to basically refuel, which was actually a good thing because I was able to strecth my legs a bit and actually move, then back on the plane for the 14 hour flight to London...Ugh.....
Sydney- London, Australia missjaneo... those horrific stairs on her own and realized moments later that was an impossible feat. I helped her carry it up the stairs to her house with a great deal of difficulty. when we got it inside we dropped it immediately , it landing with a loud sound that was a cross between a bang and a thud , which alerted laura who was going through her days purchases. The rest of the day was spent assembling the coffee table, lazily lounging around the house watching t.v , eating and chatting away.
